How inspiring, and what a grounded and kind person. This is the kind of work ethic I’d like to have! Also very moving to hear the story of his grandfather offering him whatever museum art class he wanted. That kind of support from family is such a beautiful thing.

Growing up I didn’t draw more than most kids Or draw lots. But a memory I remember is I was sitting next to my dad or on his lap and he drew me a little cowboy and an airplane And I was ReALLY impressed. I asked him to draw more but he didn’t. It wasn’t that technical but as a little kid I loved it. Another person that inspired me later was my aunty. My dads sis . . One time she drew a face. And I was also Really impressed and wanted to be able to do that.
I have had a similar experience with my dad! He insists he can't draw, but when I was a kid his little sketches were the best things I'd ever seen :) Thanks for watching! - Mia Rozear, Art Prof Staff
Hey do you think someone can get accepted into an art college (for an illustration major) like RISD if we don’t have any realistic pieces?I hate drawing realism and still life’s because it’s just not my style. But when I look at portfolio all I see is realism.
