  • People with rheumatic diseases are at higher risk for complications if they get the flu. So, while it's important every year to get the flu vaccine, this year it is more important than ever.
Hospitals are already overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, having shortages of hospital beds and equipment, and COVID cases are on the rise again, just as the flu season is starting. Because COVID and the flu have many of the same symptoms, this could cause confusion in treatment.
Make sure you get a flu vaccine as soon as possible! visit vaccinefinder.org/ to find a flu vaccination clinic near you.

During covid pandemic, not ONE medical entity would test for the flu in Mississippi until the covid test was given and resulted in 3 days and by that time.... The medicine given for flu, Tamiflu, which had to be given in first flu stages was not given in time; therefore, people would never know early enough to treat the flu timely and suffered thru the flu. All medical entities were so engulfed with the covid testing that the flu testing was pushed aside. This lasted from March 2020 thru end of 2020. Ridiculous!!!!!! Flu testing and symptoms were not even reported that year.
