Great video, as always! Just a quick note about 12:10: Zweihänder means exactly "two-handed (sword)", and it was developed during the Renaissance in Italy, Switzerland and Germany, and was the favourite weapon of the Landsknechts mercenaries. :)
Fun fact Zweihänder literally translates to 2 hander.

The phrase you were looking for at the end was "take the wind out of its sails" which was a tactic in old fashioned naval warfare to cripple an opponent's sailing ship.
I'm still fiddling with my v63 zweihender build but... In power armor playing in 3rd person your character wield it in one hand
It's so badass I can't play anything else

I run this one as a daily driver and my Vamp/40/40 Auto-Axe for bossing in my full health PA build.
This weapon basically screams to be used within PA, you really do feel like a Space Marine.
The one handed use in PA is a nice touch. Really makes the weapon feel heavy since you need both hands outside PA, and even gives a feel that this weapon was designed specifically for PA.

Have been running a build with this since it released, honestly really fun and refreshing
On my melee build, my instigating 40% more power attack damage war glaive does more damage on the first hit than the zweihaender. Also, for me, my anti-armor power attack damage war glaive does more damage against eviction notice super mutants than the zweihaender. And my bloodied 40% more power attack damage war glaive does more damage in general than the zweihaender, at least until the executioners kicks in on the zweihaender. But I love them both. You should use the zweihaender against Earl. That would be cool to see!
Yeah zero reason to use the Zweihander over the War Glaive unless they ever let us change the stars on it. Same base stats and 2/3 stars on the Zweihander suck. Anti-armor, Instigating, Junkie, Aristocrat, Bloodied would all be better. And +3 STR is best in slot. Idk what they were thinking not letting us re-roll this.
That’s one of the best designed weapon I’ve seen. It’s odd but cool.

It's too bulky to be practical.
Weighs too much to be swung efficiently.
Is top heavy in the worst possible way.
Is completely impossible to guard with it in multiple positions.
Completely impactical for swinging indoors or in small or tight spaces.
It's only saving grace is that it becomes "one handed" in power armor which makes it a little more wieldy...
But also kinda defeats the whole point of it being a "zweihander"
And that would all almost be fine if it didn't have A FUSION CORE strapped to it AS A HANDGUARD.
Ah yes, the safest place to put the volatile explosive power source is... Where your opponent is most likely to strike... Or hit accidentally.
And make sure it sticks out at an angle so you are just as likely to hit it against something yourself.
I thought the super/rocket sledge was a terrible design, but this takes it to a whole new level.

I mean what frigging experience do you have with weapons at all? Let alone their design? To be making statements like that in the first place?
There's a reason nobody has used a weapon as clumsy and impractical as this ever, anywhere before.
It's s a terrible design.

The Tenderizer is a better design for a weapon than this.

I thought you were pullin my leg about the damage added by PA to power swings but yeah, went from up about 400 dmg hoppin in the excavator set, with the normal swing staying about the same

Except for Earl, sigh. I wish they would fix Earl clipping through the floor or ceiling.
For full health users:
This weapon is still very usable. My damage isn't maxed yet but with 30 str (food buffs and weights) and power armor (overeaters and 28 str) I could solo two storm goliaths while the rest of them were focusing on one and had them at half health by the time they killed one while I had two low leveled cheerleaders hyping me up. Its ridiculously powerful and pairs well with headhunter scythe
The fact that we can't craft or re-roll such an awesome weapon feels like a crime.

Right the skins are incredible and some of the rolls are good I would just prefer to be able to reroll them for myself

Got Zweihanded yesterday and personally I was surprised by its damage. I run with your xp build, not spec for melee at all and I can one shot level 100 super mutants with its power attack. Love the weapon!
Haven't had any luck getting it at all since skyline valley events seems pretty rare during fasnacht for me, though i am back on my melee character again and finding that goo piles from my plasma glaive seem to be eating drops and deleting loot before i can grab it.
What is the formula for damage calculation, additive and multiplicitive? Every time i try to work out damage numbers, it always comes out the same. Take the damage, multiply by 1.4, that should be multiplicitive? Or am i wrong? But if you take 40% of the damage and add it to the base, it's the same number. So i don't get the difference between additive and multiplicitive
Id really appreciate some advices on Classic Melee/Bow hybrid just because i feel those two weapon types would mix together pretty well.

holy cow! this is the 1st time i actually want to use a slow ass weapon! i often run an unyielding bloodied Gauntlet with faster swing speed. Seeing Turtle in a power armor with that big ass sword looks absolutely bad ass! I'm doing it!
How do you get the war glaive ?
Looks great. I've just switched to a bloody melee build so will have to try it again. I didn't like the slow swing when I tried it on my old full health build. Would love to see on bosses

How are you getting the energy damage portion so high? I can’t raise it above 150

I still don’t know how to power attack but have been thinking about making a melee build because I bought the plan for this off someone’s camp for relatively cheap
left alt is power attack. pretty bad gameplay wise and the game needs to let us change key mapping for this reason^^

Just so you know…there’s no plan to craft this weapon. There’s a blueprint to hang on the wall in your camp though.

I will continue to use my Chainsaw on my Coffee Chugging Full Health Heavy Gunner which requires no melee cards or food buffs to kill stuff(except Earl, SBQ Goliaths etc etc ofc) quickly!

This might actually make the thorn armor valuable, if it's that close to an OHKO.
I run a full health thorn build. I like doing drive by power attacks, if the hit doesn't kill you the bleed will shortly afterwards.
Do you think this weapon would do good with your turtle build?
Too bad I cant get it since the questline is bugged at "powerhouse of the cell" at "clear the lost from the area" and cant proceed... :(

@@seccosec I got no markers for the quest, no matter how many times I kill all the lost inside Vault the quest wont progress. Tried changing servers, going to a private server, etc. Nothing. Now I opened a ticket to CS and asked for a quest reset...
@@Bronzemanna19 is it the part of the story where you 1st enter the mansion? if so, you just have to wait till the guy at the top of the stairs gets up, i had the same issiue and nearly pulled out all my hair^^ there is a guy in power armor when you go straight, he is leaning against the wall, dont kill stuff too quick and let him get up.
@@PsYcO9iKiLl9YaH no, its past that. Its inside the vault, where you have to make the serum. Its a step before you craft the first serum. :(
Issue is it drops as a physical weapon, and not as a plan. So to keep it requires stash space, plus you can't explore different builds with it 😞
Looks good, hope they fix the sprint bug soon given up on melee till it's fixed.

I really hate that Bethesda is TOO LAZY and incompetent to make a proper 2handed animation for PAs.
Or maybe it’s on purpose… cause you got more strength in a PA, so can single handed it.

Feels so slow when it's not extra swing speed, and if you want to take advantage of the legendary effects then you'd have to swing even slower :/

As a favor if you are going to afk at least use your charisma build and share the best perk cards you can so at least your team benefits 😉 It's a win win 🏆 and less reason to be bothered 😉

I use 3 weapons, vampire power attack less dmg power attack auto attack, aa explosive crit charge handmade or my favorite a bloodied crit damage less vats cremator
I had no idea executioners was still calculated like that. Looks like I’ll be using my Elders Mark E5025… but no melee. I wanna look at something and have it die without walking up to it lol
No reason to use this over the War Glaive, 2 out of 3 stars are basically useless.

I'd have to see this compared to a bloodied swing speed DC gauntlet on bosses. No way this wins. It's over a second from hit to hit!
You have to stop relying on buffs when you make these vids. It does not paint an accurate picture.

Im so sick of bloodied builds, lack of viable build variety kinda burns me out of the game tbh
You don't have to play bloodied. I'm level 1384 and the only time I've ever played bloodied is for xp grinding
My level 1020 used to be a bloodied heavy, but a while after they added the punch card machine I swapped to full health over eaters with a variety of load outs. My personal favorite build is a shotgun/ launcher build that mainly uses a vampire crit damage combat shotgun. For queens I swap to a primed cold shoulder and an endangerol syringer.

There is absolutely zero chance I will ever switch to this glorified boat anchor.
Even if they do give it the "best stats" in the game.
Make the other melee weapons viable.

Completely ruins the playstyle when the "meta" is junk like this.
