Something I've been considering myself as well, as I'm weighted way too heavily in trophy cards. I believe just normal boring plays will outpace the growth
The way I see it. Anontcg plays are the way to make money. He is the guy who sold all those surging sparks booster boxes at 185 during the cyber monday tcgplayer sale. A mix of quicker/smarter plays and grails is best. It's oaky to have a closet full of product nobody can afford, but if you wanna make money on pokemon you definitely should be dabbling in product people can afford. lol
I really don't think they do better. I think being top of weekly >> middle of pack premiere tbh. The bid increments can be problematic at these "low middle" I'll call it premiere items go too imo
have fun making the website :P, I worked on mine a few years ago and it was a lot of struggle but worth it. Btw, assuming from your video you are taking the market tcg prices at 70%, but are you confident that when you sell your packs or etbs you are making a profit? More simply are the tcg marketplace most of the time accurate enough to the prices that you will get on ebay or fanatics when you sell? Because for me I used to sell on ebay and I noticed there was a big discrepancy sometimes between the prices on ebay and other platforms so you really need to know what you make when you sell.
So far so good I'm using the same core price I pull in my sheets for the buying side and the selling side no major issues yet. Except when I buy junk like sv base and others that barely sell at any price lol
I struggle with committing us to high-value cards like that as I don't trust my knowledge of them enough. What grails would you recommend someone start with to learn that side of the hobby? Base set unlimited Zard? PSA 9 Gold stars? Van gogh pika?
I think no matter how much you learn you'll never get a fill grasp in where such speculative things will go over time. That's my take. There's margin to be made in all of them though which is where I seek go be. I don't feel comfortable projecting long term prices on most things in the hobby
Should have sold the #3 trainer to Rusty and rolled the proceeds into Bitcoin.🤑 We can't predict the future though, seems like a prudent move to move on from these cards now.
@@KetchumAllCollectibles exactly. I did better in Crypto than Pokemon which makes me want to step my Pokemon game up. mainly because most of my capital was in crypto.
The tension between being a businessman and a collector!

You know where you can consign if you decide to sell 👀

Just seeing how Dan lights up when he sees a spreadsheet makes my day 😊
😆
Can’t go wrong taking profit! Onto the next buying opportunity!
🚀
Selling into the strength rn definitely seems smart
Prior strength sale woulda been smarter but I got rid of most of them and hindsight is too easy 🚀
omg the title scared me lol. thought u was quitting yt for a sec lol. leggo trophy✈️
2025, the year of the stream.

This might be a joke or not, but in all seriousness this hobby is booming for that exact reason 🫣
Let's hear it my Guy! 😊
Where exactly do you get the alt value of a card? I have failed at google.
Alt xyz. Put a dot in between
Why didnt you go with a fanatics premiere auction for trophy

Hey Dan, loving the information and perspective! When sourcing raw cards to grade and flip, do you try to see them first or just buy them online?
I have multiple videos about that in my backlog. Look for the graded edge thumbnails when you search

I did the same thing a couple months back
Been putting the proceeds to good use?
@ Collecting slabs was something me and my kids enjoyed together, but they no longer follow the hobby. I just reinvested it all into sealed product.

The only guy I know that reverse shills cards he's selling.
🚀 👨🚀 🌙
The trophy card sold for $28200.. Not the best time for trophy cards, better time for set modern cards..
I would have guessed ~30k so it was expected. Will put that money to good use. 🚀
I’m dumb enough to invest in Pokemon but I’ll never be dumb enough to go into crypto. Unless I start as a miner.
😆
I'm smart enough I've been in both for years
