Those Bart Train videos that I watched were awesome! I can’t believe all the Legacy Trains retired but they were great! The eTrains light rail kinda low key! My favorite train is THE FLEET TO THE FUTURE!
Nice video! It is great to see another BART video! I think that the new signs are also good because it supports BART's recent emphasis for addressing the lines by there color, such as on the Fleet of the Future announcements. Also, are you going to do anything for the reopening of the N-Judah, M- Ocean View, or the F- Market? No pressure just wondering. :)
Thanks! Much agreed on the signs too, their new features are a welcome addition. I don't have any footage scheduled from those MUNI lines at the moment but it's definitely up there on the list of things to film, so stay tuned!
the signs look nice with the colours but I feel like the old displays with plain red text on black just popped out more when a train approaches, especially when viewed a distance
I just seen a Bart train being carried by a 18 wheeler in western New York and we don’t have them here curious why it was coming Thru a small town is there someone who works on them nearby or where the nearest ones are to me
Well it seems like they’ve already changed the screens so will be easier because before the old screens there were like glitching and it was impossible to see
I would absolutely love it if they would paint the strips in-between the cars to match the line they're driving on. I understand it wouldn't be feasible, but it would just be beautiful.
Yeah, that's probably impractical due to the equipment rotation. But the new trains have digital destination signs with the name and the color of the line on them.
Recently I've been seeing a lot of the legacy trains being replaced by the new ones. I went to the Civic Center today and only saw one legacy train, the rest were the fleet of the future.

I know that the old timers like these, but I have an incredibly hard time explaining this system to anyone who's visiting. In short, there's a reason why almost all other systems use colors instead of termini to differentiate the lines. Also, BART keeps adding stations so if you're away from the system for a long time you're faced with a bunch of new destinations that don't ring a bell at all. I took a break from BART for a few years and all of my trains changed termini. I almost missed a train because of that 😁
*It does not. These trains have that beginning whine like the A650s, but not the acceleration sequence, so no it does not sound anything like the A650s, except for the slow acceleration process.*
Those are going away too. The entire electronics system is getting replaced from the train announcements to the literal wiring for train traction power. BART is actually changing a lot of things right now. It's not a surface-level remodel. Basically, the whole system is switching to the type of equipment they installed on the new South Bay Stations.
Nah, thanks. BART is waaaaaaaaaay overdue for un upgrade. The old wiring is falling apart and they are simulating some parts of the old system with Arduinos to keep this show on the road. At some point the riders needs have to be prioritized if we want anyone to ride the system. BART is not a museum. It has a job to do!
I like the new models (even if I hadn’t rode them) I like the satisfying *BRRRUDUM* of all the doors closing at once, but things like the display should’ve stayed. I like how it tells you in bright red letters where the train is exactly going and such
Same here. My eyesight is a little below average and I cannot see the new signs very well. (I always wear a new glasses prescription but my eyesight isn't totally fixable) The old signs were great -- I could even read them from the street as I was pulling up in the bus. Now it's hard to read the signs from the platform. I feel bad for the many riders with worse vision impairment than me.
Whoa!!! New display boards?!? :O
I’m so glad I have footage of the old ones... :)
Nice to see the new screens. I do like the old ones a lot though.
I absolutely adore the closing doors sequence on the new trains.

Hello from Belgium. 😀
I loved riding the BART.
Woah! New display boards :D
I like the New Display Signs I hope to see them installed at all Bart Stations
The sound of the motors remind me of the Transperth B series trains here in Perth Australia

Fleet of the Future for life
@ yessir!
I think that they look a trillion times better than the old display signs.

You might be in luck with that one
@@railtechadventurer what company are those buses?

The orange line is my favorite Bart line
24th Street & Mission in SF also has these same signs.

they often swap the cars around on different trains that go on different lines, so yeah it wouldnt work

I Like Taking The Bart Train Just For Fun Because I Like Trains 🚂

I still prefer to refer to the destinations instead of color since I don't have to ask which direction the train is headed.

Does lake Merritt Station have like a Bart Shop
I believe so, but there's also an online store now: www.railgoods.com/
Oh that’s right
They sound exactly like the LA Metro trains
Except the 2nd batch of A650s in the Los Angeles County MTA fleet use GE traction motors.
@@manuelalvarado6510 he means the 2nd batch not the first

What the model of the new train
BART D-E car, built by bombardier, the d car is the cars with a cab and the e car are the normal passenger cars
Bombardier Transportation was recently gobbled up by Alstom, who built the C1 flat nose cab cars for BART back in the 1980s.
@@manuelalvarado6510 yup, unfortunately i did not know that despite bombardier being defunct for a year back then
I wanna see AC Transit line 78 and Muni 58
Still have that Speak-And-Spell sounding platform announcements…
