    I like to use the bead-it in the spry can for this it works perfectly and won't leak comes in gray , red, black ect.. Also the filter bolts have a torque spec so next try and include them as well . Great job 👍 Black beauty rides again !! P.s. I spray clear coat on all my lines , trans , brake , fuel ect.. it keeps them looking good and rust free for years to come .

    Excellent video Dan! In my book, if you can get the bolt out, it's not completely rusted out. LOL TJ wrangler's rust out worse than the cherokee's. And, for those who don't want to loosen the trans pan, just jack up the front and put it on ramps to get the most fluid out.

    • @ProjectDanH

    Awesome video dude, just did a new filter and new kick-down(tv) cable. Made the mistake of putting the gasket on, but might pull the pan off one more time and use RTV instead like you described. If you run a transmission cooler, check out glow-shift tranny gauge. They even sell a single pod gauge mount for the drivers side pillar. From a fellow long islander, another great video!

    Something I bought once and used multiple times, oil pan snap ups. Used on the oil pan and trans pan on my XJ, trans pan on my ZJ, and I think there was something else before they disappeared.

    I can't get the pan out. I don't have the leverage/space to really yank out the whole dipstick tube. I'm going to have to leave the old filter in and just refill the transmission fluid until I can figure out how to get the damn thing off.

      @@ProjectDanH I was actually able to fix it. I removed the pan, and with a bit of leverage, was able to get the plug out. I retapped the threads in the pan and got a new plug :) I’m in Tasmania, so just getting another pan wasn’t really an option for me. XJs are pretty thin on the ground round here :/

    Where in the vin does it designate an xj or a zj on a 1989 jeep Cherokee Laredo

    • @ProjectDanH
      @ProjectDanH  3 года назад +1

      Vin numbers don't designate between XJ or ZJ. The digit placement however does, have other specific functions. If your jeep is an 89 then its an XJ
