We were not good, but we had so much fun. That scene hit me right in the feels because when I saw Jin adjusting his glove, then hearing his T3 theme, I went "Mmh ? For real ?". And when I saw him switch his fighting stance, my eyes became teary and I was smiling like the child I was back in 1998. Pure fan service, but I don't care at all because we, the old people, needed that 😂

I found it a bit jarring to know that Kazuya apparently knows he abandoned Mishima style. After Tekken 3 Jin immediately went to Australia to learn Traditional Karate to abandon the Mishima style. Kazuya didn't even meet Jin until the end of the Iron Fist Tournament 4. So for all he knows, he could have just been doing Traditional Karate all his life. So it did surprise me that Kazuya is seemingly aware of Jin abandoning the Mishima style.

Absolutely lost my shit when this kicked in. Tekken 3 was my first Tekken so hearing this again and him also going old school Jin made me smile to no end.
The version of Jin you play as while this tune plays is the perfect version of Jin in my eyes, as it combines his iconic T3 Mishima moves with his more recent, yet equally character defining stance-switching to give us the best of both worlds. I know plenty of people don't look at his Karate style too fondly due to nostalgia for T3, but as someone who grew up with T5 and then went back to play T3/TTT afterwards, getting a mixture of the best aspects of both styles is a dream come true.
The introduction to the new karate style in Tekken 4 was awesome considering how strong Jin was in that game. Tekken 5 Jin was utter shite, Tekken 6 Jin was ok, it wasn't until Tag 2 and 7 that they finally gave Karate Jin some cool ass moves. As much as I love DVJ and T3 for the nostalgia, Karate Jin is just so much cooler

Kazuya also develops in 8 as he hesitates against Jin after losing the Devil Gene. Its just that Kazuya was consumed and gave his humanity for power. There was even a poster in 2020 showing Kazuya with a white feather saying "There is hope in darkness" Sure Jin beats Kazuya most of the time but Vegeta also beats Goku always In Tekken 2 your main character is actually Heihachi but the story is about what is going on with Kazuyas soul. Kazuya is the bad guy but he isnt less important in the games story. Thats why we got two endings. Kazuya has 1,2 and 7 and 8 is shared with Jin Jin has 3,4,5,6(was also shared with Lars) and 8 is shared with Kazuya. Although you see things from Heihachis perspective in 7 its still about Kazuya,even Heihachi yells "IT ALL GOES BACK THAT DAY",thinking about what he did to Kazuya as a child and Kazuya then saying like a protagonist "Heihachi.You can never defeat me". In the end Heihachi falls cause Kazuya used the rage of his human emotions,his red eye not glowing at that moment and you can tell in his face that he sees his abuser which is why he sees Young Heihachi. Its a twist,you play as Heihachi but its mostly cause the Devil has to be the boss for gameplay reasons. All promotional material shows both Jin and Kazuya to an equal amount for Tekken 8

Tekken 3 came the year I was born. At age 9 I got to play it's árcade mode through Tekken 5 and got a glimpse at Jin's theme as well as his Mishima karate style. Now at age 27 I understand all the hype there was around this stage of the fight. If I was born earlier and played T3 back in the day I probably would have lost it when this music hitted. Thank you for this masterpiece Harada.
I can’t tell you how hyped I was throughout this fight. It was already hype at the start with “Storm Rising”, then we get this classic remix PLUS JIN’s T3 MOVES, then we get him using Jun’s Kazama style martial arts, then all of them combined. So amazing.

Man when I was going through the final battle then Jin’s T3 theme started playing I was squealing in delight at that and remaking the PS1 game’s cover with his original gameplay was the icing on the cake! Absolutely wonderful callback. It’s not just a redemption arc for Jin after Tekken 6, it’s a genuine celebration for the character, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for him in Tekken 9.
Yeah, Jin wasn’t officially crowned in 4 under a technicality. Yes, Jin’s story is the canon one… but in that story Heihachi sent the Tekken force to kidnap Jin before he could fight Kazuya in the semi finals… so technically Heihachi won that tournament. It was AFTER the tournament that Jin fought Kazuya and Heihachi and beat them both. Too bad no one saw it because he proved they were (at that time) frauds!
If Jin won Tekken 3 then why does Heihachi still own the Mishima Zaibatsu in 4? I know his ending is canon but he couldn't have been the official winner because Heihachi still the head in the next game.

If Jin won Tekken 3 then why does Heihachi still own the Mishima Zaibatsu in 4? I know his ending is canon but he couldn't have been the official winner because Heihachi still the head in the next game.
