This guy managed to make repair videos and provide clear angles of the procedures 10 years ago. This production is honestly better than 90% of the videos posted even today... My man Donyboy.. u also didnt age one bit, keep it up!

Thanks for these videos. Made repairing my 170 really easy. My chainsaw had stopped oiling the chain so I needed to strip it down and give it all an inspection and a thorough clean. The saw is 13 years old so I didn’t use Stihl parts with the exception of the worm drive as to do so made repair uneconomic. I replaced the fuel line and filter, oil feed line and filter and the worm drive for the oil pump. Cleaned it all up and now it’s back to full health.

@EssedariusMaiestas there should be a L H screw and a third screw to set the idle.
i think the replacement carb kits are as follows MAJOR REPAIR KIT: RB-31
    MINOR REPAIR KIT: GND-21

@nyta2006 take the muffler off and look at the piston and rings to make sure it is not scratched and that you have good compression. you might have to replace the carburetor kit

@EssedariusMaiestas put a new carb kit in it, u may want to ajust the idle screw first to see if that will do the trick

Great video. I used it to replace the duck bill valve that fell out. Can't figure out why that would happen. My dealer had it in stock for a couple of dollars. This helped me disassemble and reassemble it.
The torque screw for the chain break lever broke when I screwed it out though. Oh well. It seems 180C has a lot of little things like this that go wrong. Never had to worry with the old 180.

Rubber Fuel Hoses Hardens over time. If it is loosely fitted on the Carburettor Inlet Pipe Barb OR the Fuel Tank Hole To Hose Fit.

Yeah, it is. My uncle has the same saw and it runs out of gas fairly fast. Other than that, it's a great saw.
