Perfect and clear instructions. Thanks so much! I spent way too much on cherimoya fruits last year but my trees are flowering now so I’ll give this a shot. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for the demonstration. I tried this on my Annona Reticulata (Bullock's heart / wild sweetsop) 10 days ago. I'm glad to see many flowers developing into fruit stage. It was the last phase of flowering. Missed some large portion of flowering days. Had I seen this video long back, probably would have had enough flowers developed into fruits to distribute to whole neighborhood. Although I did not find 100% accurate results, it is somewhere 70-75% success rate after hand pollinating. Earlier it was hardly above 15%. Thank you so much Edit: Done with the last fruit of the season today. Had an abundant quantity of sugar apples this season due to hand pollinating. Success rate was impressively high.
This is the best guide with a little explanation but so clear thanks buddy I give you a big thumb up very smart way to do is getting the pollen from the flower after pollinated to pollinate the female flower
It’s very interesting, I have one in my balcony, last year there was two flowers, they fall, I hope this year it will bloom, and now I know what to do, thanks
So, after you pollinate it, it still switches to a male, and then you can collect pollen from it? Even though it's already pollenated? That's nuts! BTW that was the weirdest three-sum I've ever seen. Or two-sum I suppose?

One question. How can you have a male flower first? If you have not a single female flower to pollinate to become male? Can you still find male and female flowers at the same time on a tree?
Hello Thien, now it's September and my tree is full of baby cherimoyas, is this the time to trim extra branches? I heard we need to trim them so the nutrients will go into the fruites instead of the extra branches and leaves. Can you tell us how to trim without hurting the tree at this time/season? thank you!
I want the same brush, could not find on Amazon, or what to look for, 2Nd, my flowers/Petals never open enough as shown on this video for me to see the center to see the anthers or pollen. HELP
I have a sugar apple tree about the same size as yours. It's early April and the tree is full of flowers. I followed these instructions to the last detail but it still hasn't yielded a single fruit. When I bought this tree it had 3 fruit so I know it can yield but I don't know why my hand pollinating is not working. Any ideas?
Hi, how long has it been since you pollinated? It may be awhile until you see it take. If the flower stem falls off then fertilization did not take place.
@@TnTranN You're right, there are now several flowers growing into tiny fruits! Thanks for your help. BTW the production you get from those atemoya trees is amazing! Good work
I am a little bit confused here. After I pollinate the female flower, would it produce fruit or would it turn into a male flower. Please advise. Thanks
Female flowers will turn to male stage with or without pollination. For flower to produce fruit depends on when the female flower is pollinated, it’s not 100%. Just keep pollinating and you’ll see some fruitlets develop.
Anh Thien, when you swirl the anthers around and toss them, will you toss pollens too? Also, I need to collect pollens again from same flowers to pollinate another female flower, right?
The same flower you just pollinate will turn male and you’ll be able to collect pollen from it to pollinate another female flower. Keep the anthers and I discard when you swirl and don’t see any pollen left on your lid.
Thanks, I don’t get it what do you mean by the fruit will look different, for example I pollinate any cherimoya to AP and dream what the shape and taste will be. I’m little confused, Thanks.
The second year my atemoya note 5 fruit, since then I get a lot of flowers, after the leaves fall off the fruit shrinks, dries and falls off the tree. I fertilize the tree every 3!months and hand fertilize it. It’s been two years with no fruit. What am I doing wrong???
Atemoya don’t lose their leaves until April. Fruit dying due to tree not being able to support it which means some kind of systemic issue starting at the root system. Could be from overwatering.

Collect pollen from male flowers. Pollinate female flowers, female flowers turned to male and collect pollen. Repeat. Those are the steps I use. Keep refrigerated if not all used.
This fruit is second to none in my book. It always gives me the extra power and energy I need throughout the day! Thank God for this Fruit He created.
Damn. The best clear video ever. I have been pollinating using anters and not the white pollen stuff. Thanks man.

bravo. excellent and 100% correct information. 6 dislikes from those who still think the anthers are pollen.
Simply the best I’ve seen. Thank you.
Your fruit and generosity of succint information are both impressive. Thank you.

I use steer manure and 14-14-14 osmocote

Лучшее объяснение. Теперь стало понятно. Спасибо!
Which city do you grow it? Do you have it in full sun or some shade?
Love your video. Very good idea thank
If you’re throwing away the flower, wouldn’t it be easier to just pull the flower then gather?
Thanks a lot! got the brushes, doing it when ready.
You’re welcome! Happy painting, I meant pollinating:)
what did you search for to get the brush. Thanks
never mind, I got the site from the intro
Are you able to store pollen?

I have growing at the moment
so what's the success rate of this hand pollination? how many days to know whether pollination worked? how do you encourage more buds?
Really nice
The tree that have fruits at the beginning of the video, is it your tree? I live in Tampa Fl, can I buy some of the seeds of these fruits? Thank

Hello vietnam
Thanks for the video...🤗🤗🤗
I only have one flower, can it still produce fruit since u mentioned the female will turn into male, or an i wrong
Need to pollinate during the female stage to produce fruit. Pollen comes from the male stage so if you only have one flower then it won’t work.

Don’t forget to thin out some fruits. I recommend keeping the ones closes to the branch/trunk and prune off the ones at the tip.
@@TnTranN Ok, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
So, just for clarification is there a Male Flower and a Female Flower on the same tree? I can’t tell the difference, can you pls elaborate on this?

Are every kinds of castured apple need hand pollinate?
Friends in Florida don’t need to hand pollinate because there are plenty of insects. Here in California, I have to pollinate or no fruit at all.

My tree is flowering in September. What month do cherimoya flower? Do you prune your tree and when is the best time to prune? Thank you
What’s your location? In Southern California, cherimoya flowers during April-July. I prune branches and pluck all leaves around January-February.
Thien Tran I live in Riverside California. Thank you for your response!!
Quick question: I did the same but I got only anthers, not pollen. Is there a specific hour during the day to collect pollen?
The flower you collected could be old. I check early mornings around 8am and evenings around 6pm. Goodluck!
Can you cross pollinate cherimoya varieties and Atemoya varieties. Thanks
Yes and the fruit will look different

Do you have to do this every year? And, do you have to do this for each flower in order to get a chirimoya?
Yes, I hand pollinate every year to yield more fruits or else it’s very seldom without. You must pollinate each flower to get a cherimoya.

Milenka B Yes there’s a lot involved just to get the tree to bear fruits :) explains the high price
Why you pollinated the femal and few hrs later you collected the pollant from the female off ?
So you have pollen to pollinate other female flowers.
thank you very much
I have tried this without much success. It seems when I brushed the female flower, I just get anthers, no pollen. Do you know why?
If you just get anthers from the MALE flower then either the flower is old or wind
How are you so successful? I've only gotten a 10% success rate with hand pollinating. Is it possible to collect the pollen too early and it won't work?
I check every morning and pollinate just like in the video.

How long the pollen last if unrefrigerated?
Not sure. If I know I won’t use it the next day then I’ll keep it refrigerated.
how to make a cherimoya tree give too much flowers? thank you !!!
I fertilize with steer manure.
So I have one male flower right now that has opened and no female flowrrs
My question is how long can I preserve the male flower? I’ve already taken the pollen off and so forth
"Pollen can be stored in the fridge for 24 hours."

My parents have a cherimoya and wonder why it’s never fruited. We’re about to get some cherimoyas
How long do you wait to pollinate?
Female flowers give off a fragrant odor when ready to be pollinated.

I would clip off all the flowers so the plant can focus on growing
