Both different enough, LS50 sounded boxed in, nasally, though much richer and full. The Spendor is sublime, good clarity, extends high, and the decay is much more organic. EDIT: The decay is night and day between the two, the voices and percussion decays so much better on the Spendor.
Smartphone is enough to show the difference. LS50 is not neutral. It has a lot more bass weight and a bit more natural treble. But it definetly lacks the middle. The voice is too shy. Give it some real-life-modern-music like alternative rock and it will totally disappear. LS3/5 might sound less "natural", but more "expensive". Like it can handle a lot of sound events in the middle at once. I bet it plays alternative rock wonderfully.
To me the Kef's seemed louder, giving a fuller punchier sound whereas the Spendors came across as a little lightweight but with the more natural vocal: Maybe the amp needed turning up a touch more for the Spendors?
I owned both speakers. The ls3/5a sounds angelic. The Ls50 (and Meta) sounds boxy and nasal. I don't get the positive reviews about this speaker. Maybe it has more bass in electronic music

First off, you cannot judge speakers sound on RUclips as it is recorded in somebody's room, recorded on Lord knows what mic?? then transferred to a digital computer format, then sent to RUclips, then the VIEWER of the video has Lord knows what to play this back on?? - That being said the KEF sounded overly bright and not neutral. Really they were just LOUDER! But the KEF T-27 and B-110 in Spendors were state of the art in 1973 and modern technology should beat it. RUclips comparisons like this --you can do it with a cartridge turntable setup recorded direct to a digital file and put up to RUclips to some extent but then there are still limits - degradation in sound -think of threading a needle with wet spaghetti - the sound card and the internet and what is possible limits to what is actually there.

You've got both speakers sounding great! For me, the LS50s sound the most impressive while the LS3/5as sound the most like real life.

The Spendors are missing their grilles ,that is how they were designed.

Yep, I like the LS50s. Disclaimer, I own the LS50 wireless (not the Meta, the original). I heard an LS 3/5a (I forgot which brand) and chose the LS50.

Crazy how good the ls50s sound for the cost. Keep looking for a better bookshelf but nothing grabs my attention enough to justify an upgrade
