Unlike their fellow AL Central team in Minnesota, Cleveland never seemed scared of playing the Yankees in October. I think their 99 team would have put up a better ALCS showing than BOS did. Heck maybe the 01 team could have given the Yankees fits if they held on against Seattle in G4 And lest we forget they gave the famous 114 win team of 98 a rough ride.
This was Roger Clemens final MLB season, as he has retired. Well, he didnt retire, its just that the report that will be released later this 2007 will make teams not take a chance on him.
AROD did not produce for the third consecutive postseason (2005 ALDS against the Angels, 2006 ALDS against the Tigers, 2007 ALDS against Cleveland). And he failed to come through in the clutch against Carmona late in game 2.
@@chrisuncleahmad Everyone at this point from the Yankees was ready to move on from AROD if AROD opted out of his contract after the 2007 season. Everyone except Hank Rumors were that the Cubs were the front-runners if AROD opted out, to be reunited with Lou Pinella There were even rumors that the cost-cutting-Marlins were interested in signing AROD, to have an extreme lineup of AROD-Miguel Cabrera-Dan Uggla-Hanley Ramirez I cant seem to remember what other teams asides from Yankees-Cubs-Marlins had an interest in signing AROD to a huge contract after the 2007 season. This is the end of the Joe Torre Yankees era, as he will sign with the Dodgers in the offseason to be their new manager next season. Yankees will sign Joe Girardi to be their new manager next season.
Yankees-Cleveland in a rematch of both the 1997 ALDS and the 1998 ALCS Kenny Lofton played in the 1998 ALCS for Cleveland, but not the 1997 ALDS since he was with Atlanta. Jeter-Mariano-Pettite-Posada played in both the 1997 ALDS and the 1998 ALCS

He was a Yankees and Cowboys fan during the 2000s, since he said that he wanted to be associated with the "star" teams, since he was viewed as a star. Im surprised that with that logic he wasnt seen walking around in the 2000s with a Lakers jersey
I went to Clemens’ last game ever pitched. It was at Yankee stadium, the Yankees came back and won but Clemens only pitched a couple innings. Got smacked around. Gave up a homer to Trot Nixon. Only throwing 88-90. My sister and I got the tickets for free from the attorneys at my dad’s bank. On espn, they were talking about tickets going for thousands of dollars as it could be Clemens’ last game ever (which it was). When we were driving near the stadium, some big black guy stuck a thousand bucks into the car window for them, we were about to sell them and drive home with the money but the red light we were at turned green. We ended up losing the guy and went to the game anyway. To our shock, the attorneys actually showed up to the game and sat in the other two seats. My lord, had they seen two black guys sitting in their seats next to them, it would’ve gotten back to my dad and we would’ve gotten our asses whooped! lol. We also got ripped off by some crackhead “server” in the Championship seats section. She took our order from our seats on a device and we stupidly paid with cash. She never came back with our food. lol. Took the money and ran. Crackhead. Oh, and I met Kid Rock at the game.
I still think to this day Moose should've started Game 4. I know he had a bad year in '07, but with how poorly Wang was in Game 1, I would've taken that route. Moose had experience pitching in elimination games before and for the most part delivered in those.
@@ryantouhey1997 If the Yankees were up 2-1, then Moose would have started game 4. But being down 2-1, they had to go with the sure thing, and that was Wang on 3-days-rest, even if it didnt work in the end.
The end of an era in the Bronx in more ways than one
They won in 2009
A flat first round loss was the last postseason game ever at Yankee Stadium
Final days of the Joe Torre era in the Bronx.
Game 1 started off so well for the Yankees......... until it didn't
Ill always remember Lebron James in this ALDS, when he was at the game in Cleveland for game 1, and he was wearing a Yankees hat.
Yep, I was hoping the highlights would show that.

Just like Bonds
The MLB was colluding, but since the goal was to clean up their public image almost no one objected.
Game 4 on Monday night went H2H with that insane Buffalo/Dallas MNF game where the Cowboys scored 9 points in the final 30 seconds
And Shawn Michaels famous return on WWE Raw.
Last postseason game with Old Yankee Stadium next year the Yankees will miss the playoffs.

Miss the tribe
The Indians' last playoff series win over the Yankees to date.
I'm still upset, all these years later, that the Yankees started Wang over Moose in Game 4
This was the only Division Series that was not a sweep that year.
I don’t think that ever happen
This postseason as a whole sucked. The ALCS was the only good series of the playoffs, 5 of the 7 series that year were sweeps
@@ghygt396 the Yankees were banged up that year if they advanced to the alcs that year they would’ve been swept by Boston

They should have stopped the game in game 2, until all bugs were removed.
