- Oahu Hawaii is hands down one of the most incredible places I have visited and the best way to experience the culture is through food!
In part 2 of this food guide we're going on a road trip, exploring all that the East and North Shore has to offer!
From world famous Malasadas to family owned home grown eats, this videos got some spots you cannot miss! We’ll also be chowing down on some Hawaiian BBQ as we go to an authentic Hawaiian luau!

FYI... Waiahole=Why-ah-hoh-lay=Mature ahole(scad mackerel) water. Poi is staple food in Hawaiian diet. Since it's hypoallergenic, poi was mixed in the food of newborns/toddlers that had trouble digesting normal baby food. As a state, Hawaii is home to >80 varieties of taro. Worldwide, there are >200+ varieties of taro

Haleiwa=Hah-lay-ee-vah=House of the iwa(frigate) bird. Mama Nita's owner is Good friend, business is Wholly family operated
Waimea=Why-may-ah=Red water, used by Capt. Cook to replenish water/fruit stores, 1778-79...FYI..
Haupia=How-pee-yah, dessert made from coconut milk, coconut meat/water mashed/strained together & baked in imu at luau pa'ina(party/celebration)
