By far the best TAT series to date. You say you were worried about different views and a drone, don't be. I have watched every TAT video out there and yours is hands down the best, by far. I am also very appreciative of you showing all the details the others skipped. Its important for us future TAT riders to see this. Literally can't thank you enough!
This was an awesome series! I live in Trade, TN, 70 years old and have raced off road for many decades. I'll be getting a CT125, it may be the last MC I ever own but what a way to go!
I want to thank you guys for making these videos, length was not a problem. So many memories on this SHORT video, but the one that sticks out the most in my mind was after you turned off 101 and onto 199. Back in 1968, I came home on leave and was driving my buddy's 1966, 365hp, 327 Corvette convertable. We got stopped on the old Hiouchi Bridge.......and a friggin' log truck hit us and drove us into the car ahead! (Home THREE HOURS! It don't take me long to tear things up!!!)She was still a driver so we were able to drive her home but the fiberglass on both ends needed some work!!!! I have to give a shoutout to Steve. When he first showed up on the scene and helped you get over Engineer & California Pass, I knew you guys had a friend for life. Live life to the max but use some smarts about it, contrary to popular opinion when we were young, we're NOT bullet proof. Case in point is right about 4:45 on this video, a couple out for a drive on the lady's birthday met their maker in March of 2021. I can't count the times I've driven this road and no tree fell on me.(:) krcrtv.com/north-coast-news/eureka-local-news/2-killed-in-crash-on-hwy-199-when-redwood-tree-falls-on-vehicle
I'm excited to hear you have another episode coming out after this one. Meeting Steve was destiny no ifs ands or buts. I thought it was awesome you kept bumping into him on your journey. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much , Don’t ever be sorry !!! It was an amazing trip . Inspired me to buy another new bike . Xr 650l and maybe some day will get to experience what you guys did . Can’t thank you enough. Chipster
Awesome job even though its over! Gave a lot of people inspiration to do something similar so we can thank you for that! Your wife deserves to go to Scotland so yeah, do that next :-)
The fact that all good things come to an end is the price we pay for the fact that no matter how bad things are at the moment, sooner or later they will be over...
Congratulations. Thanks for the series. Great you did this on a CT125. Wow, sometimes 165 mpg. Crazy the you rode those high, rough Colorado passes on that bike. It was cool to be able to see it all. Thanks for sharing.
On the list! Steve is planning on dong that this summer and asked us to meet him. The logistics and cost to ship/fly are probably going to be too much for me and I don't have time to drive there this summer. Johnny Pow might do it. I'm probably going to do the MA/NEBDRs- something I can get to from my driveway... But - still thinking on it...
... 8:12PM, 9/22/2024- WOW!!!!! Just finished up this and the close out videos. As I said in some of the other episodes, I am home recovering from a dual sport accident. CRF 300 Rally. Left scapula in multiple pieces, 5 broken ribs and something wrong with my left shoulder. I will find that out on Wednesday. I have been watching this like a mini series. You hooked me with, "West bound and down...." on EP 1. 🙂 There have been other videos with sections here and there but this full ride was fantastic. You showed it the way it happened. Thank you for taking the time to film, edit and post. One of the wrap up videos you said it took hundreds of hours and I believe it. What a commitment that was. I have questions but they may be posted on the following close out videos. THANK YOU and Johnny Pow!!!! Jeff (In Maryland) CRF 300 Rally.
Thanks again for taking us along on your trip! Glad you both made it through unscathed and got back home safely! Looking forward to the next adventure! Cheers!
Great trip, enjoyable & relatable narration, fantastic scenery and a good story: what more could one ask? Thanks for sharing. BTW, my new ct125 arrives in my garage tomorrow!
Alas, as it turns out, there was no Honda ct125 delivered today. The deal went south. Heeding mother’s advice, all I can say is as much as I was looking forward to Little Aka Chibi, I’ve never felt so good walking away from a bad deal[er]. On the bright side, I’m doubling down and put deposits on 2 Honda ct125’s elsewhere. My wife is giving it a go and without a doubt, your series is an aid to that end. Well done Ang & Johnny Pow.
One other trick for you guys if you ever come back West on 199. Right at the end of the film, you're crossing Hardscrable Creek. Going West bound, that's a 35mph curve........BUT, if you put your righthand steering tire on the white line, you can do it at 55mph....................with a load of logs!!!!!(;>)
When you mentioned going 199 from Crescent City to Medford and how you were not looking forward to it, I thought you have no idea the treat you're in for. =)
You announce that the series is over. I wonder if that’s not a labeling problem. I would contend that this particular stage of the series is over but its effects will endure. My wife and I have two Trail 125s. It was that connection which brought me to your channel. My focus rapidly shifted from the motorbike and its behavior to that of its operator. I came to recognize this person as a self-confessed fallible human trying to make sense of his surroundings and derive meaning from his undertakings. The whole thing for me is a lot more than a motorbike adventure. I think you will benefit in the decades to come from introducing yourself to the world and sharing your inner musings as you discovered America. I find your babbling to focus primarily on pattern recognition. We’re all visited by the same sorts of random momentary fixations and psychic evaluations of our circumstances. Lastly, but far from least I hasten to add that your sense for how music can amplify mood and setting is utterly phenomenal, no lie.
i just found 2 they are 300 miles away but tomorrow i'm going to do my best to get one and will worry about how i'm going to go get it later. i want to hear all about what you did and didnt need but i think i want a windshield. just enough to get the air off my chest.
Thank you very much for all the episodes ... If you want to see somebody in a fes you should talk to sir Anthony Hopkins he is the president of the Tommy cooper fan club he was a fantastic comedian and magician
Thanks for sharing this. It has me inspired to do the tat. I bought a used KLR though. I don’t need that abuse. Ha. I think a 300 rally would be excellent. I’m sure the Himalayan would be good too. Thanks again. Now I just need to figure out how to get that much time off.
I was just bemoaning another Wednesday without CT125, and here you are! Your wife IS awsome! Looking forward to the NC500, and TET series. Perhaps Nathan at Dorothy's Speed Shop can hook you up with some postie bikes (or Himalayans)? Thanks again for the vicarious adventure!
Would appreciate info on how you shipped the bike. What kind of truck line. Did you have to stretch wrap it or anything or drain the fuel. What was the cost. Etc.
We used Federal. We got lucky and wanted to leave on a Monday - you have to plan not to want to leave on the weekend. You don't have to do anything - just drop it off. They'll say they don't want you to leave your bags on - but they don't care at all. We shipped fully packed. They screwed mine up and sent it to Louisiana. But - aside from that - I'd recommend them. They weren't cheap though. Just under 1k. (but I got a deep deep discount after they shipped my bike the wrong state...)
Awesome series if I were you I would leave the ct exactly like it was when you finished loaded up with all the gear and covers in the dirt of 3000 whatever miles
MR Honda in Asheville. Guys in service are semi-nice. Guys in sales are semi-nice. That's all I got on that place. I think there's a great Honda dealer closer to you though...
There is quite a bit of pavement when you get closer to the coast. You start that leg at Marlington WV and then with in a short ride you are in George Washington National forest. I did that leg on my Himalayan. It’s a good ride.
Ang, Loved the series and the format. its refreshing to know that its not only my brain that does weird things on long rides. I too am weary of judgmental cows. Looking forward to the next trip. BDRs?
Did you adjust to shitting in a house and on a toilet again, or are you really pissing off the neighbors? 😂. Future Ang you look like you need a haircut, it looks like you cut it yourself. Lol. Great series guys. I enjoyed every mile.
After a few accidents behind the sofa, I've acclimated to the toilet again no problem. I do still make a mess in the neighbors lawn now and then just out of habit. Thanks for checking out the vids!
@@SomeGuyRides Well sometimes it take a little while to readjust. Lol. Sounds like you are just being “neighborly”. Haha. Thank you for making them and putting the time in to put them on RUclips! Hope you make some more riding videos soon. I miss you talking about random crap. I can relate to it, i’m close to your age.
I had some memory foam put in before I left. But after that many miles - I doubt there's a seat in existence that wouldn't put a hurting on ya. Maybe a big cruiser, but... The seat on the CT is definitely not comfortable. No two ways about it.
It was created to travel east to west. And honestly - it gets better and better as you travel in that direction. It might be a bit anti-climactic to do it the other way. But people do. We shipped them home which I thin was covered in this episode.

Brilliant to have had a surprise extra episode.
Pleased to have been with you, albeit vicariously, every videoed mile.

It’s what kept me coming back.
I'm not sure about worried, but definitely be on the lookout for further symptoms...
