I understand the appeal of Cleric for solo, but would definitely like your take on Bard for money making, etc. They also have a heal, they have movement/action buff, and higher resourcefulness.
3 buffs is good. Protection first then bless and strike. Protection is fine to cast first since it goes away on hit so time doesn’t matter. And then that gives you 20 seconds with divine strike and bless. Also don’t be afraid to cast buffs on yourself to clear AI faster. You’ll never use all your buffs if you save them for PVP. Lotus swarm was the strongest build in the game last playtest (for a short while). It could one shot a squad of max geared players with only a few 100 gold worth of gear. It’ll depend how the scaling works with magic damage and True mag damage but if the scaling is close to last time a mid gear cleric will be the most deadly thing in the game. Haven’t had a chance to do proper testing yet.
That's a good point regarding protection! Also I haven't tested locust swarm with better gear, but yeah I heard it used to be super overpowered. Not sure if/how much the ability was nerfed 😅

I really tried to make cleric work in goblin caves but I just couldn't make it as stronger as other classes imo Sure, if you pre-buff with armor plate and hit all your attacks, you will win 99% of the time. But it only work against clueless players (which is most of the community to be fair), they just have to stall and wait for your buffs to expire, then you will most likely lose the fight. Cleric has the same problem as barbarian pretty much, if the other guy doesn't want to fight you, you can't catch up to him (and for cleric it's even worse since you always want your perfect setup with 2-3 buffs before fighting)
Yes cleric mobility is low. If someone just waits for your buffs to expire and you can't easily corner them, you can use judgment to slow them down before engaging or even just disengage altogether to re-buff. Unlike Barbarian though, if someone chips away at you and escapes, cleric can easily recover. Barbarian is stuck with the hp damage received 👍
Nice video, but I've gotta point out a few things. Just for some credibility I've been in every playtest and reached the top 100 in the leaderboards. Holy aura isn't just for other teammates, it's also on you. It's range on teammates is also so low that it's practically ONLY for you, they have to be right on top of you. 15 armor and magic resist is no joke, especially going in ungeared, and it -might-, scale with Will? Haven't tested it, but either way that 15 armor and magic resist can give you a big enough survivable boost to spread out your heals more. Tho be warned it puts a permanent glowing aura around you, makes it hard to sneak. You mentioned you should cast bless first, which is true, but that the will doesn't matter- the will stat will actually improve the power of your shield, so yes cast bless first but also for this reason. But I still think this video is incredibly helpful for newcomers and will really give them a good starting point in the dungeon and I gave it a thumbs up c:

I'd keep bless because it lasts 30 seconds and because the boosted will also strengthens some of your other abilities. You could maybe do 3 buffs if you want? Do bless (30 seconds), protection (because immediately consumed when you're hit), then divine strike since you need that to last as long as possible. Alternatively, you can stick to two buffs and just alternate which ones you use. Just kinda depends on your playstyle and how often you're taking fights👍
When you get kills against some of those moderately geared fighters can you show or just post a little thing in the corner if you were running greys or white or better? not a big deal, just curious so I know what its possible for me to do early on or late, I know this will come with time playing the class as well, other then that though great video and very helpful.

This is EXACTLY how ive always played! You can stay in the storm from the 3 damage reduction with your healing. And you can exit almost every game with good skill through the secret cave exit!! (Google the secret exit if yoh dont know where it is!!!)
Hmm, I honestly am still researching and learning about this myself, but here are my suggestoins so far. I've tried all the cleric weapons and I've found the morning star to be the best. Always wear boots and gauntlets. You can get cheap ones and they don't slow you down unless they are metal. Get a helmet. The headshot damage reduction is worth the movement penalty. Sure, rings and an amulet and cape are fantastic, but those are expensive, so don't mess with those until you're more comfortable with the game. As for the rest of your armor, cleric is already slow anyway, so I'd say build for heavy armor. But until you can get some actually decent armor, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You're getting small defense gains in exchange for potentially large movement penalties. As for stats, ofc +x to all attributes is extremely good, but that's also usually very expensive. I usually try to prioritize strength since that increases your damage as well as your hp pool. Agility is not as good since cleric is already just way too slow. A little bit of knowledge can be nice if you want divine strike but you don't need much knowledge. Will is nice, it buffs some of your spells. Resourcefulness helps you interact/loot faster which is alright but won't help you in combat most of the time. As for true damage, true physical damage, weapon damage, etc., honestly I'm still learning the specifics and differences of these and don't really know which are better/best yet. If anyone wants to share their knowledge on this, it would be much appreciated 💙

Good shit, even the ARCHER is badly nerfed nowadays. Clunkiness, delays, uncertain hitboxes made it quite terrible tbh. +200h on that one. Still! More DaD videooooos!
Ranger is better imo. Not learning melee is a user error. As a ranger, I use melee half the time or more for multiple reasons. Save arrows, it's quicker, and sometimes it's better to be close to an npc for line of sight purposes. But the other reason Ranger is good for new players is traps. If you hear a player in the next room it's a great way to ambush or evade other players/teams. Also setting traps focuses the player on figuring out the map and alternative maps and how the tiles fit together om the map.
Learning the map is definitely very important! And it is true that melee can still be used even as a ranger. However, for new players, the healing just makes cleric so much more forgiving and has much more room for error and will give more spacing/melee practice than ranger does

I don't understand. You can use Lesser heal and Sanctuary together right off the bat, along with Bless and Protection as shown here 8:23 No gold or gear needed aside from the free starter gear 🤔

For example Wizard start with a blue potion.

Finally you made a build video! It's an interesting game, but I think I'll rage-quit this game way too fast for the price to be worth it for me.

My problem with cleric is their speed... new players will struggle to fight rogues, fighters and barbs that will just push them
Cleric speed is a pain for sure, but I think for new players they first need to be able to survive and get used to basic PvE
