That’s really large honey suckle. We have lots of that vine growing here where I live in NC; however, it never gets large enough to carve into a cane. Where are you located? I like to make unique canes also.
I live in Missouri. We have two types of honeysuckle here. One is a vine the other is a shrub. Trumpet honeysuckle (the one that vines all over the place (variety of colors), if not cut, and the Winter honeysuckle (mostly white blooms) which is more like a bush and grow in clusters with branches seldom no larger that two inches. There should be some in NC somewhere.
I like that stick, the epoxy almost looks like a jewel.

Try cutting a diamond shape where you need to fill and maybe use red or green color. It should look nice.
