- After a lot of road rage in day 3 of the race, I decide to take it down a notch and enjoy day 4. Today's stage was a lot more XC than the previous days, with only one memorable downhill section.
But that's OK, I felt like this was the perfect way to set myself up for the rest of the stages.
Extended race videos are up on / bkxc
🤘Thanks to BMC for lending me the Agonist 01 and helping with financial support!

I just want to take a moment and give credit to the people who did the trail marking in Powell River. Death Rattle looked like a airport landing strip. Also, it gives me the warm and fuzzies seeing so many people out supporting the riders. So awesome.
Hell yes!
I've never been to that part of North America but dang that wilderness is beautiful. I need to get out there. BTW i say foh-lee-idge.
BC is the best!
I love the race within the race between you and Paul...:) Beautiful forest today!
I’m so impressed with all the support of the people out on the trails! So cool!
It was the coolest thing!
Ride safe BKXC
Yer killing me man! 71 degrees decently hot? I would die to have temps that low in the summer. Nice video!
I agree with you Brian, I will always let people pass if I sense they are there. I'm not in it to win, it's always about enjoying the ride for me!
Keep up the great riding!
The view on this part of the race is stunning.
I have to commend you for your spirit and sense humor, Brian. It's the way to go if we want to survive in our struggles and remain in one piece. Thanks for reminding us and again, thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks Roy!
Wow man that place is a dream you nailed it, I think the zen is the way forward mate, you rock Brian!
I live in Powell river and I love it
Foilage cracked me up! Your videos are a constant source of fun and positivity. 😃
Wonderful singletrack for days! Love how you had to keep telling yourself to go easy, great job! That Paul guy is something, isn't he!
Time for a Garmin Fenix. No pun intended. Another great video. Looking forward to the Enduro 100 vids.
Nice ..............................Made me want to pitch a tent and stay for a while.
Hells, Bells.....BC is the shhh. It's on my bucket list of trail riding for sure.
I love all of the random mid-ride motivational entertainment
Happy you found your chill vibes but I gotta say I kinda miss road rage Brian. All else being equal there's good entertainment value there :)
Hahaha, just had to take a day off, I’ll bring it back over the next few days!
Dude you're doing some awesome things .
As always , a great video
I finally make it on celluloid , even if it is for almost walking into you on the finish line, Doh !
Also , great book choice , I seem t o remember it was a monster in print , so no doubt it lasted you for your race downtime
Hahaha thanks Richard! Yeah, it was a long one, but well worth it.
damn....the support from the people out in trails, so refreshing. lol, 21 degrees is cold from where I'm from. much support here from the Phillippines!

Hi Brian, it was great to meet you at the BC Bike Race - of course we're going to tell you we like your videos, they are fun to watch and a great way to see where to ride next! Maybe see you next year - Hannah and Andrew (104-1 and 104-2)
Awesome! Glad you are enjoying them!!
21 degrees hot - lol. Ps - hi from Australia :)
We are from Northern California that’s hot to us. The hottest it gets is about 90 degree F. And that’s not often or for long
lol dude you are international. famous. thanks for the adventure!!
The forest looked amazing! Sweet singletrack. Looks like you had the most fun today with no pressure, just riding!
man, I just spent a week on the sunshine coast. '51 dodge' and 'bobs your uncle' were on my route. Camped at Saltery Bay where the whales were active the whole time. Amazing forests, Incredible riding from Squamish to Powell River, great holiday but I.m a 1000 km and two ferry rides away now. Good vids
Fantastic!!
Awesome video sir keep it up you're the reason we all feel energetic while cycling 👍👍
What a beautiful place to ride
The trees at 11:30 are quaking aspen. Even in a gentle wind the leaves will shake.
Nice!!
Those looks like some pretty fun trailside race parties. 😀
Thats actually part of the challenge - to not go down one of these rabbit holes! 🤣
What a great race with some truly amazing singletrack. Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes experience too gives a great flavour to the whole event
love it when you bike past a bagpipe and it gets progressively out of tune
I envy the mountain bike competition in a beautiful place.
Great series of clips about the race. You’ve inspired me a weekend warrior to have a go at a multi day race. 👍👍
Shogun is a fantastic book!
Great video, as always, but trail looks just amazing.
I need to get myself to British Columbia. Sweet trails!
Keep having fun BKXC 🤙
Nice save at 5.12, Respect from the UK as always. :)
lol was someone not so subtly pulling off for a trailside-pee @ 4:14?
That's deff a trailside squeege in the works there.
When ya gotta go!
BC Bike Race Redemption 2020 - that flat on the first day. You need to beat your time for 2020! Keep up the great video's....yippee ki-yay.
Man those wood plank bridges or trails look deadly slippery. Awesome riding.
So deadly!
Absolutely loving this series! That BMC looks awesome too.
*going* D E E P
Killin the rides and staying humble, always enjoy the vids and locations.
Amazing scenery! You are doing an awesome job racing AND vlogging, keep up the great work and bring it home strong.
I've been watching for a while and ever since you went to Eagle Mountain in BC, I've been wanting to show you around it again! It's gotten so much better and while you did some good trails when you were here, you didn't do my favourites ;)
Glad to hear it dude!
I’ve bin to that exact same beach before with my grandma. And normally I would be down there at this time of year but we didn’t make it this year
Never slow down! Put Eye of the tiger on continuous loop! Go BKXC!!
Yay!!!! Another BCBR vid!!! Great job Brian 👍👏😁
Instant like for the normal temperature at the beginning👌🏼
Man love the video, thank you. Enjoy it you could be working in an office in London.
It's "foilage" if you put too much tinsel on your Christmas tree.
🤣
"Most picture perfect single track I've ever seen"
Dude pulls to the side to Pee
Love your vids
James Clavell x Shogun is great! But his book, Tai Pan, is a MUST read!! These videos are awesome, love your stuff! Keep it up!! Crush that Punter!
Nice, I’ll look it up!
Great video's, interesting how you shred the toughest parts and gain time, enjoy living the dream!
I like the Zen Brian🤘just chilled out!
Really entertaining video. Thanks
What beautiful scenery, for me that would be distracting.
A virtual Hi 👋 from me, but a real one, One memory I think back to is when you had the incident with the Yack in Tibet, It makes me chuckle a little loud everytime 😂
Hahaha yep
These videos are making me want to do bcbr in a couple years
What a great ride! Love the series! GO BRIAN!
Enjoying this series, waiting to see Neil.
I kept expecting an Ewok to poke his head out from around a tree. That looked so cool. The colors of the dirt, fallen trees, and greenery made it almost look fake. It looked a lot more tame, and that you got to enjoy it a little more this stage. Of course that meant you let Paul get out front, but the spoiler on Syd and Macky's channel already foretold the future. :-) It looks like no matter what, you guys are there having fun and not taking it too seriously. How can you take it too seriously when someone did that in under 1.5 hours??? (Shocked face)
Hahaha yep!
Great Trails 👌 looks like you and Paul was having a good Race 🚴🚴 😉👍
I actually thought "oh shit...I thought j saw a bear"... THEN you mentioned the stumps! 😂
Such beautiful SingleTrack....
*And this is where Wahoo steps in to say "we apologize, your unit must be faulty.... We'd like to send you a new one to try, so you can see how awesome they are blah blah blah marketing bs etc..." 🤔
Hahaha bears everywhere!
This is the third time I've seen this trail in the last week lol but love it seeing from some many people's view
HahHa nice
@@bkxc I was wondering if you had any other merch as I can only see 3 product on your site. I thought you had some stickers and stuff or do I need to be a patron to get the stickers ? Also do you ship to the UK ?
Very good video bro I'm from India and I watched all your videos love you bhaijaan Eid Mubarak
Love the hat. I work the mtb festival in Oakridge every year called MBO.
Nice!!
4:14 my boy was like fuck that, gotta take a leak!
Brian, this is my home town..
I think that it is really awesome that volunteers are posted throughout the trail to ring bells, blow horns and yell encouragement!! Do you ever find that offputting?
I like it! Everyone is always excited!
I love how you say "only 1000m of climbing" :D Early last week I did my first ever ride with more than 1000m i was completely dead lol 34km 1329m of climbing and it took ages, good memories tho
Haha yep!
was waiting for this!
Great video! I wouldn't be bothered naming the trees. Too many of them for that and you can't call them all Frank or Tim!
Seaplane!? seaplane!? nice!
Aweesome trail!! Slow and Fun ride today ha! 😎
Lovely terrain 👍
fantastic!
You know you're multiple days into BCBR when you say "I think we're /only/ climbing 1000m / 3000ft today...". Just a casual vertical kilometer...
When it comes to naming trees you can't go wrong with George. Trees like George.
I had an akward fall once from a height my belly landed on my bar and pretty sure the bar end saved my life, I would have been impaled cored and eviscerated.
Yikes!!!
I had those same grips and it's a problem losing those end plugs. I've since changed to the GE1(plug molded on)...but I agree its dangerous!
Ah nice! I’ll check out the GE1!
coooool!
I hope i can go to BC soon. It looks so fun
It’s the best
Those bridges look so scary with the handlebar height railings
So scary
Hey man, I'm going to tell my story on Clints dog vid. I thought about how you were cool and it helped today. Pitt Bull, it was close, I thought I was was going to have to to, well. I never give it up. I was on a hill and this pup won't joking, it's good, it's going to be on Clints dog vid. 😀 just call them banana trees . That's was rough won't bro, I pulled 30 miles today, but not like that. Ride on bros
Good on ya!
Good,good,good 👍👍👍
Holy low camera angle Batman!!!
Trying to show off my legs
Brian.. maybe you want to consider using heart rate monitor so you can check heart zone during race. Just in case.
Lol, that's my buddy Rob (a BCBR photog) at 15:05 in the background
Nice!!!
6:05 great song 🙂
Looks awesome. Cant wait to enter a comp
I would definitely get angry with the road rage after listening to it for days. I'd only be able to control my temper so much. I'd just be out there to enjoy the ride!
Marge: Next to spring and winter, fall is my absolute favorite season. Just look at all this beautiful foilage.
Lisa: It's not "foilage," Mom, it's "foliage." Fo-liage.
Marge: That's what I said, foilage. It doesn't take a "nucular" scientist to pronounce "foilage".
Classic!
I have the same problem with the grips but still love them.
Brian super video 👍 🇸🇰
Loved the last few series. Great job on this grueling race. could you do a video on what and how you pack for international trips? Not your bike, but all your riding gear, helmets etc? Trying to work out how i’m going to bring my kit on a trip next month... help appreciated! 😜
Stuff some of it in the bike bag, but not too much!
