Also some old school have old rule, for example students should wear selected color socks and underwears. Furthermore, Japanese have some concerns if they stand out visually , appearance or statement they could be recognized as DIFFERENT. Japanese society requires Japanese to be same and normal. That’s why Japan is safe and clean. However.....uhh it is hard for some people like foreigners, half foreigner Japanese or LGBT+. Not easy to keep present days Japan society.
