Ive been creating Fine Art collages for decades. I use Mod Podge matt for almost every task. Other glosses are available and are useful for other finishes.
I’ve had a bottle of it turn completely yellow (it was stored in a dark area). And smelled like vinegar (which someone had said happens when it ‘goes off’)
I love the Sakura glue pen. I store mine tip-down and it makes a big difference to how it flows. Might be worth a shot if you’re storing yours flat. Also you might want to try reverse action tweezers; they’re a game changer. Basically they squeeze to release and grip when you’re not squeezing. They’re great for hand strength/pain issues, but also just great if you want to play around with placement without getting sore hands/crampy.
Have you used the squeeze type scissors, such as the Fiskars Easy Action? My sister in law swears by them for her collage art. They are more gentle on hands. I'm really enjoying your content, even though collage is not a style I work in (so far!)
Must confess, Im a bit of a paper hoarder! Love your videos so far. They give me inspiration to create stuff. Im subscribed. Greetings from New Zealand!
Thanks! I’m lucky the only craft store nearby never updates their paper stock and I’ve already bought the most interesting ones…otherwise I’d be in trouble!
You should look into getting a glue press - also the metal pin on barely arts is to stick in the tip when your not using it to prevent the clog- they also have a super thin precision tip u can purchase separately
Yes, sealing it is the best option. I was thinking, maybe I can take a high quality photo or scan before sealing it to keep a version with the raw paper look. I wonder if that would work to maintain the original look. Even matte medium changes the finish of raw paper.
I’m going to check out the Bearly Art glue - I’ve been using Art Glitter glue for bookbinding but it’s so expensive 🤦🏼♀️. The Bearly Art from what I can find is a fraction of the price and it’s also archival - I think you just saved me a lot of money! THANK YOU 🤗🙏🏻😃
Love this video. The editing is perfect and love the sound quality. So much to learn when doing collages. Thanks for doing these and love listening to your suggestions.
I have been wanting to start doing collage for a while and didn't know where to start. This video helped me a lot, I will start with buying supplies. Very excited! Thank you so much for this video and inspiration :))
I’ve only used it when applying watercolour paper to wooden cradle boards. I’ve noticed that sections of it come unstuck. I‘ve switched to art medium and will see how that holds up long term.
I noticed you had Tacky Glue in with your glue collection, but don’t remember any mention of how it compares. How does it compare to school glue or Bearly Art glue? I use it a lot, but now I’m concerned that it may not be as durable as I had assumed. Thanks for the video! Great content!
Have you tried UHU glue sticks? I think they are quality and archival. Good intro vid for budding collagists.

This may discolor over time. I contacted the company and they said it doesn't stay clear!!!!

Thank you! I love your collages!
You are so welcome!
I think with any paper artworks it is good to seal the surfaces of the works with a matte or gloss medium, or a resin surface if you do not frame it.

@@colorfulcollage nice having so many options. The collage on panels with resin/matte mediums, and the natural look behind glass.
I'm just getting into collage and I'm excited to follow your channel and learn how to do it. Thank you for this helpful video!

I see on Amazon Canada that neither of them are cheap! No wonder I never use enough to make a secure long lasting bond! 😅

But I never went to Collage. What art stuff do I choose?
I’ve always been told ( by old school professionals) to use YES paste. Will it hold up well?

Check out my GLUE testing video where I include it in the experiment- but, yes it works great!
Checked out your other awesome video on glue 👍 Thank you!
Can I ask what resin you use please? 😊
Of course - It was Krystal resin. I’ll add it to the description
