Adam Goodes is in the conversation for one of the greatest AFL players of all time. Two Premierships and, as Damian pointed out, two Brownlow Medals in different positions. He is a true superstar of the game.
Yep was there for most of his games. When he played ruck he could tap it to himself and others and tackle and kick for goal. Not even Grundy or Gawn can do that. We call him a part timer, and but till his legs gave way through I jury it was amazing to watch.. and he deserved the Brown low that year
Glad he got a mention here, most didn't even realise he was injured at the time. Poor bloke could barely walk and still managed that goal. Incredible effort through what must have been crazy amounts of pain.
still see francis bourke on the trade at 6am in fluros. ready for the tools. imagine him on your site keeping the kids in line good grief. i also played under francis at canterbury cricket club when i was a youth. and just the most unbelievable man, polite, honest, leader, but no one ever let standards slip with him at the helm. i think his team won like 4 flags through 2005-2010....cricketing ofc.
that nigel lappin effort is just incredible. imagine feeling sore ribs and all the pies players laughing and stabbing it with there fingers/fist. jesus.
Somehow not mentioned , unless l missed it , Francis Bourke played out a game with a broken bone in his leg and his response was " well l didnt know it was broken "
Don't know if this is true but some have said that after running into Brereton, Yeates gave him a knee in the ribs which was what really did the damage.
I hate the eagles with a passion, but McGovern played the whole final series with those injuries, 2018 is his flag....nothing could get past him.....and that is respect.
Daryn Cresswell banging his dislocated knee back in during his 100th game vs Geelong in 1997. Played the next week!
Knee cap
Here's 1. Jason McCartney playing after what happened in Bali.
