The first tale, Accidental Death sure reminded me of the fun Man-Kzin War stories/books by Larry Niven and others. Even the species names are similar although the Kzin were overtly war-like and not prone to comedy and ping-pong. But like the cat-people of Accidental Death certainly didn't wish us well. In any event, the Kzin inspired many a spin-off and similar creatures you can discover in a variety of stories, books, comics and shows on one of which they are called the kintzi, a seeming mix of Kizin and chin-see perhaps. In any event, if you enjoyed Accidental Death, you will love The Man-Kzini Wars.

1st story, about 1:15, chasms, should be pronounced Kasms! It is a tendency of many readers, myself included, to assume how a word should be pronounced. Nowadays I try to keep a dictionary close to hand. A good thing in adopting this habit is the way one can be distracted by the dictionary, learning new words, their meanings & pronunciations. So far I've heard two readings of "The Defenders". About robots fooling the humans, living far below the surface, believing the robots, called 'Leadies' are fighting an Atomic War, allowing the humans to live safely. My point is that the 'Leadies' are coated in LEAD or Plumbum. One reader ruined the story, for me anyway, by pronouncing LEAD as lead in the context of leader, not the element we are familiar with.
