- Facebook is meant to be a social platform, where people can share about their lives and interact with their friends, family, etc. However, sometimes it's best to turn off likes and comments on a post if you prefer. In this video, I walk you through your options in terms of disabling likes and comments on a post. Inherently, Facebook allows anyone who can see a post to like and comment on it. However, you can always delete any comments or hide them. Also, you can always change the visibility settings of a post so that specific people can't like or comment on the post. Unfortunately, there's no way to completely disable likes and comments on your post, photos, videos, etc. unless you set them to visible to "only me" which kind of makes posting it a bit pointless.

(90%) of world population who keep use social media, around the globe. Are pretty sick and toxic + highly uneducated, by doing only (likes), instead of comment. How people work their brain muscles, if they don't use their knowledge to write down something??
Facebook, should update the status, long time ago (10 years ago) for instance. Facebook, from now on, must order and demand by the users to use our brain capacity and knowledge to comment.
I really find this one, extremely sick and emetic situation (I apologise for the hard language I use now), but is true!!
Right now, I cannot turn off (likes, share!!). In my case, when I do post/s, I want = demand people to use their brain muscles to show me their knowledge. I dislike all that (likes, share), because comes from people who are highly toxic and surely underdeveloped.
The owner of Facebook, surely is not that much uneducated or underdeveloped, "am I right??". So, why I have to go through all this situation, if people use social media just for their pleasure and not using their limited knowledges they have on crucial topics.

When you click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of your own post there IS the option of TURNING OFF or TURNING ON comments...... but as you already mentioned there is no way to actually turn off REACTIONS.
Well i tried removing the likes but couldn't,its only the comment that can be remove.

Yeah true. I still don't know exactly how they're able to do that. It's probably not a user's settings issue... but just some bug in facebook's code (:
Anything you post with a privacy setting of public can be shared. However, you’re able to limit who can like or comment on a shareable public post down to either friends only or friends of friends. You’ll find this setting buried within your privacy settings. This will work on the most recent version of the Facebook app, but like most settings on Facebook it or the method currently used to do it will change yet again within an app update or two.

Not helpful for me. Like many others -- especially parents of vulnerable teens who live and literally die by Likes -- I am looking for a way to post without the Like button. If someone is interested in the post they say so by stringing a few words together into a sentence. This is a big deal and may need to be addressed through legislation. And why does your caption say, "How to Turn off Facebook Likes and Comments" when you say in the video that this is impossible?

People are posting their comments onto a public page/page owners comments & they are posting where you Cannot reply in anyway to their comments (random people following the page). How are they doing that?

I am on desktop; and have been able to disable the _comments_ on individual Public posts (for non-friends); but not the "like" option. That's what I'm trying to figure out; because there have been some far lefty trolls who have stopped by and started randomly disliking all my public posts that they can see (in rapid succession down my profile page); and I had to block them to get them to stop. Needless to say, they'd managed to make quite a nuisance of themselves first; and I'm trying to keep it from happening again.
