I'll admit I was a bit curious about this film all the way back in 2023. Then when it came out I was like "Really? THIS is what the wait was for?"
Nice job on the rant, Mike.

It’s mind blowing and infuriating that this only got made because of the success of those crappy disgraceful venom movies. Shows how sad society and the movie community is. Why did people waste their money seeing venom in theaters with no spider man and venom himself being portrayed so wrong!?

Lol. It's just like that line about Madame Web's mom. It's also a film that had three writers. It took three writers to write lines like that.

    It can’t work without Spider-Man

    • @OcpCommunications
      @OcpCommunications  9 дней назад +1

It could if it was just a fast paced, wild, crazy ride with lots of action and gore.

my 2 favorite villain led films are "no country for old men" and "shutter island." I always thought that josh brolin's character in "no country" and leonardo dicaprio's character in "shutter island" would have been good for a venom story. I never had any interest in moribius or kraven.

Not sure we need any more average or below average superhero movies do we?
As a side note I really enjoyed Fantastic Four,Rise of the Silver Surfer,I think it’s way above average and a lot of fun,but each to his own.

    I disagree and here's why
    1. A Nuanced and Compelling Anti-Hero: The film doesn't just portray Kraven as a one-dimensional villain. It delves into his complex psychology, exploring his motivations, his internal conflicts, and his unique code of honor. He's not purely good or evil; he's a flawed and fascinating character driven by a deep-seated need to prove himself, making him a compelling anti-hero. Critics praise the layered performance that brings Kraven to life.
    2. Visually Stunning and Brutally Effective Action: The action sequences are not just gratuitous; they're visceral, impactful, and beautifully choreographed.
    3. They showcase Kraven's skills as a hunter, his resourcefulness, and his brutal efficiency.
    4. The R-rating is used to enhance the impact of the action, making it feel grounded and realistic, rather than cartoonish. The cinematography is lauded for its creativity and dynamism.
    5. A Thought-Provoking Exploration of Themes: Beyond the action, Kraven the Hunter explores deeper themes related to nature, survival, obsession, and the blurred lines between hunter and hunted. It raises questions about humanity's relationship with the natural world and the consequences of unchecked ambition. Reviewers commend the film's intelligent script and its willingness to tackle complex ideas. A Fresh and Unique Take on the Spider-Man Universe: While connected to the larger Spider-Man universe, Kraven the Hunter establishes its own distinct identity. It introduces new characters, expands the lore in interesting ways, and explores a different corner of the established mythology. It doesn't rely on cameos or fan service; it tells its own compelling story. A Memorable and Powerful Performance: The actor playing Kraven delivers a career-defining performance. They embody the character's physicality, his intensity, and his inner turmoil. Critics single out their nuanced portrayal, praising their ability to convey both the character's ferocity and his vulnerability. The performance becomes iconic, solidifying Kraven's place as a memorable and compelling cinematic character.

Did you write all of that yourself or did chat GPT do it for you? Because I don't buy this at all. You are praising Kraven like it's some kind of cinematic masterpiece.
I get different opinions and all but this goes far beyond that to me. Honestly, I am not even sure if this isn't a bot. I have read reviews just like this for other movies online that were clearly made by AI.

Well, when you start your film off with stealing a piece of music I love from one of my favorite films? It's all downhill from there. I felt like I was slapped in the face as soon as the film began and it didn't get much better from that point on.

For reals. I've been a fan of him since Kick Ass and he was fantastic in Bullet Train, Nocturnal Animals and Outlaw King. He tried here but I blame the script. Same goes for Christopher Abbott because I liked him in Possessor Uncut and the Wolf Man remake.
