    I love Marty Schwartz guitar lessons to get a good idea of the song, but I come to Justin's channel to truly learn a song. can't beat Justin's detailed lessons or his awesome alternative lyrics! Also, I'm a visual learner and I love the additions of a guitar tab and strumming diagram! Thanks man!

    So about this blue... I'm really not digging using the green screen thing any more - it's driving me a bit mad and I think it looks a bit crap too... so trying this blue sheet (paper backdrop) and I think it's looks ok... it's just to tie me over until I'm back in my studio in July... what you think - this blue or go back to the fakey screen using the green screen chroma key thing?

    Great lesson, Justin. It's easy for someone to say you're the best teacher on RUclips. Well, I haven't seen them all, but you certainly stand apart from the ones I've seen. The reason is your focus on timing. You always talk about it make it a part of the practice. Copying what a teacher is doing is ok, but when you slow down and practice, it's so important to be able to practice it right. Thanks so much.

      I'm about to go try it out but it looked like, besides the more complex strumming pattern, I saw a couple chords in there I haven't seen before (e sus7 I think he said) and the trick to mute the thinnest string. They all seem like they would be good to learn. I'm still very new and I feel like I'm real close to a breakthru in understanding how to play. I'm sure learning this will be very helpful.

    Great lesson. Thank you, but I do have a question. In the Guitar Tab that appears in the video for the G chord and the Em chord, it shows string 5 as not being played. Was that just a "typo" on the tab?

    • @JustinGuitarSongs
      @JustinGuitarSongs  3 года назад

      Hi Frank. On the G chord, Justin is muting the A string entirely so even if the plectrum brushes it in a strum motion it doesn't sound. The pattern though is all about the 6th string bass note then the picked pattern on strings 2, 3 and 4. Similarly with the Em though string 5 isn't muted and may get lightly brushed with the pick. But it is again all about the 6th string bass note then those middle strings.

    When I first started learning songs I wanted to play them exactly as they were played, down to the last note, in exactly the same style. But now I like it more when I put my own personal spin on them. I don't, for example play Blackbird as McCartney did. It sounds similar but not exactly the same. In this case, I believe BJA was just jamming out a tune, not worrying being precise.

    Hey mate. Any chance you could do a lesson for "True Blue" by John Williamson?

    Nah, this blue is too sterile, the green screen is far better. But nothing beats the studio. Great channel mate. Cheers from Australia.

    • @JustinGuitarSongs
      @JustinGuitarSongs  Год назад

      I would suggest about 100 - 105 bpm but by any means, slow it down first! | BPM tool: www.justinguitar.com/tap-tempo-bpm-tool | LievenDV | JustinGuitar Official Guide, Approved Teacher & Community Moderator

    Is he playing an open A string for the G-chords? It looks like he's not doing A string second fret like a normal G.

    • @JustinGuitarSongs
      @JustinGuitarSongs  3 года назад +1

      When he's doing it slow, he plays the A but you can bring some dynamics into it by playing only the top 3 strings on the G or the D. Try for yourself! I tend to skip some lower string too when decorating with some Dsus2/sus4 embellishments for instance | LievenDV | JustinGuitar Official Guide

    The pre-chorus is E minor, D major, C major, G major.
    Not C add 9. Just look at Billy playing it, you can see his fingers.
