Hi Folks, I just want to let you know one thing about this episode. This episode is based on the real story. The whole lottery prize was about 5million USD, and the guy cheated on his wife took out 400thousand insurance. Their children were still minors in that time, so the wife was an administrator of inherited property
As you watch more Kdramas, you will learn more about the "truck of doom" we like to call it. I actually paused the scene right before the truck and thought "the truck of doom would be nice right about now" and low and behold it came through!!! I was still pretty shocked though because I didn't think it would happen in a realistic drama such as this. Love seeing you guys react to your first kdrama!!
This is even more wild if you know that this case (like almost all the other cases in this drama) is based on a real case and that's almost exactly how the wife inherited the lottery money from her husband - the husband died from a hit-and-run and they were already divorced when he was killed, but since his only direct family were his children, all the lottery money and life insurance went to them. As his children were minors, the money basically went to the wife, who was their legal guardian
The husband treated his wife nicely before he got his lotto money was mainly because she was the breadwinner of the family. She is the only one making money from her snack bar while he was just gambling away the money. He treated her well because he needed her for her money and not because he loved her. He cheated on her behind her back. He’s always been a scumbag. That is why when he got his lotto money and knowing he can keep all of it; things changed quickly.
Yea, I'm sure he blamed her for him having to rely on her, because otherwise, how would he justify the bad life choices he made? Not like people like that will ever see themselves as the bad guy.
Poor woman thought she had a good husband. Scumbag spent money gambling instead of looking for a job. However, she kind of enabled him because she excused his gambling by saying he was a good husband.
yeah at first I was like it came out if nowhere, but it was just that he wasn't physically abusive. she worked, he gambled & is a liar/manipulator and got away with it because he did the bare minimum
The husband dying was the ultimate lesson in what results from greed. He was so caught up in greed and his need to get her to sign the divorce papers that he became reckless. You teach ur kids to look both ways before crossing the street but he was so blinded to what he wanted that he didn't look and as a result paid the ultimate price. And the woman who lied for him loses too because now she won't get anything as he was still married. The wife loses because the man she loves died in front of her. The child loses because their father is no longer there. Everyone loses because of his greed.
Syntell, if you like villains, you’re gonna love Vincenzo! The main lead is kind of the antagonist there and its got great intellectual and power fights!
That drama was bombbbbbbb. It was slightly boring in the beginning then started getting so fun towards the middle and just nailed it at the end 👏💯 it was so satisfying cuz we can’t realistically find revenge the same way like in the drama and all the actors acted extremely well esp the main character song joong ki
Yep. In the RL case they did get divorce so his money went to their kids but since they are not legally of age yet , the mum takes care of the Financials until they are of age
Yes ,as someone metioned, it is based on a true story. The only big differences were there were 4 guys instead of 3 who promised to share that lottery prize, and the husband , after he got the money and divorced to get the money alone, soon died by not just a car accident but he died by the hit-and-run car accident. The place they promised to share was the gambling place just like the drama, and the husband had a girl friend before divorcing just like the drama. Because their children were too young to get the money from dad after his death, the money went to the ex-wife. The news said that the real story were more dramatic than the drama.
30:02 It's hard to believe but this episode based on true story actually there were 4 guy bought lottery together and bad guy died by hit and run while divorce trial so money goes his underage children then their mother managed money and life insurance part was true too my english is poor but hope you can understand👍

The "White Truck of Doom" that suddenly appears out of nowhere and kills someone is actually a pretty common trope (though usually it's a pedestrian who freezes in a crosswalk, not a t-bone of a car like that). I've seen enough k-dramas now that as soon as he jumped in his car and pulled out into the street with the view of the right side of the screen blocked off that.... I was just waiting for the WTOD to make its appearance. Y'all will get the eventually too, I suspect ;-)

Question: If Kwon gets Young Woo to quit and then joins her mom's law firm, wouldn't he have used manipulation and dare I saw a bit of NEPOTISM as a result of the manipulation to get the position? Isn't that his complete argument against Young Woo that she used connections to get in but now it's okay for him to do it? Hypocrisy at its finest.
I feel like if he could he would say something like how he's actually "working hard" to get a proper position in a place that isn't fair since the beginning (pointing at young woo) so it makes it fair and right [I personally wouldn't agree w him but people like him do defend their hypocrisy like this]

In the US it's basically impossible to write a law forbidding workplace relationships for a couple of reasons: 1) many companies are closely-held, which means ownership is all within a family. Yep. In the RL case they did get divorce so his money went to their kids but since they are not legally of age yet , the mum takes care of the Financials until they are of age

So, another real life case.... the writers really did their homework. I appreciate it.
