Ehiem pre formed rigid inlet / outlet pipes look as if they will fit in the Juwel cut out..... I hope so as that is what I'm going to install in the next few days. I don't know if the Ehiem pipe is big enough bore for your filter
I have this exact tank, and although my filter does a decent job, I’ve been thinking of upgrading to an Fluval FX canister filter for some time. This solved the problem I had with the lid! Great video, thanks 👊
I have an Eheim 600T and luckily the hoses fit in the gap without pushing the lid up. What's the internal diameter of the FX2s tubing? I know the external diameter is 24 or 25 mm. The Eheim has an internal diameter of 16mm and an external diameter of 22mm and that fits easily on my Rio 350 but I was thinking, if the internal diameter of the FX2s tubing was 16mm, the same as Eheims, , you could have maybe used a piece of Eheim tubing for the bit where it exits and enters the aquarium. Maybe Juwel could also come up with a pop out solution to save people having to cut bits out.
It's a great idea. Could maybe make a full series on this with all the different solutions haha.. I think Juwel may prefer we use their equipment on their tanks maybe hey.
Hi Daniel. How are you, Sir? Sometimes, you just have to improvise. Yet all in all, you did a pretty good job, if I may say so. Thankyou very much for sharing. Take care, Sir. 👍🏼🙂👍🏼❤️
Ah thank you very much. You know me; serial tinkerer haha.. I enjoy figuring out the challenges. Might not always come up with the neatest solution but have a good time regardless. 😂 Hope you are well and all is fine with you bud.
That looks great, Daniel! Great fit around those hoses. I have the same nobody who steals my tools, pens, and left socks, very specific needs for that nobody 😂. Great job 🙂👍
Thank you. Check on your tools before you start the job man. Nobody strikes at the worst time possible haha.. Someone suggested using a dremel for the holes with I reckon would work great.
Flatten the pipes as still have the same internal volume. BTW not a great fan of ribbed pipes, just my tuppence worth. I am getting this tank in the next couple of weeks
There's a video on RUclips called "Juwel Rio 350 & Fluval FX6, featuring large aquarium water changes" if you want to look that up. He shows he got his FX6 in the cabinet just about. Both the FX4 and FX6 are 40cm wide I think so based on that it should go in.
I used a drumel with a cutting disc to relocate the feeding trap. I was able to cut a perfect shape rectangle. Much neater and easy way to do any cuts in the lid
Awesome video daniel , i used scissors to make my cuttings in the lid, great to see you got genuine juwel lids. I must say you did a great job mate , those little gaps will only help with letting out those gases. Btw did mrs dkf find out where you hit the flooring lol
@aquariumdelirium thanks man. To be fair I had complained previously about how flexible the lid flaps are which can make it awkward to place them but yeah they're somehow also pretty bomb proof at the same time.
Dear Daniel: I managed to acquire wood stands and canopies for the following-sized, breeder tanks: 5.5 gallons; 10 gallons; 55 gallons; 75 gallons; and, 120 gallons. I recently asked the Manager, of the Fish Department, in my, local pet store, if he could get wood canopies. He advised me that they are no longer produced. I’m not sure this is the case, but I’m very pleased that I managed to get these items, while they were on offer. The back of these canopies is false, so adding hoses, to the tanks, is not an issue. I love the way you sorted the canopy, on your tank. Thank you for sharing this, terrific update. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
@@DanielKeepingFish Mate, it will be one of the single best investments you can make. I think they're only about £40, but they help you out with so many little jobs.
Results were great but i think you need some new tools for Christmas 😂
Fewer light fingered friends and family maybe haha..

Glad it helped. They are great tanks. Sticking an FX on it is definitely a nice upgrade.

Indeed, I am thankyou buddy.
Have you had a chance to visit Waterworld Aquatics in Glasgow yet? 👍🏼🙂👍🏼❤️

Nice and neat. Nothing wrong with some wee gaps here and there….life’s full of wee gaps isn’t it Daniel.😀😀👍👍

We should have chosen this for your 60s challenge lol. 🤣
I couldn't even remove all the Conexo from my fingers in 60 seconds. 😆
In fact forget that. Made two videos this evening and was referring to the wrong one haha..

Nice steady hands there Daniel. I was worried that you may lose a finger at one point. The end result looks neat.

I can’t believe how good the lid is for keeping its shape considering how thin it is

Oo.. nice find E. J. You'll need to hang onto them for sure. Think the only other ways to get wood lids nowadays are customs builds and DIY hey.

Thank you very much.
Did a similar thing week before last so that I could add some plants into the top of the tank. Used a Dremel 😉
I don't have a dremel but it's a great idea. Bet it made the job easy and perfect. 👍
