You probably don't remember, but the name "Flugel" came up in the first season, that big tree that was used to kill the white whale was called Flugel's tree because, apparently, a long time ago, Flugel planted it. This is known only because Flugel signed the bark of the tree "Flugel was here". Nothing more is known about Flugel himself, he was called a sage, but it is not even known why, because apart from planting a big tree, nothing is known about him.
I don't know about anything non anime in Re Zero, but this Flugel character is really something interesting. I saw him being drawn like Subaru in a fan video. Is it Subaru? Or did Flugel have a great relationship with Satella before she went bad and the "intense delusion" of Satella is that Subaru = Flugel and they just look alike. At the same time, Satella misses her savior but he is obviously dead for a long time. Other thought is that the "witch-hood" is not an internal force of witches but something that has been given to witches, like the authority that's given to Archbishops. I imagined by the description of witches that they are not that bad. Maybe somehow some bad people got control of Satella and then she corrupted the rest of the witches. Imagine how is it to be a witch. People puke and die within 30 seconds of your presence. You bewitch people and people are losing their mind over you. I am convinced that the black miasma on Satella suggests that she's different from other witches. Maybe the witch-hood is granted by Satella, at the same time you become incredibly lonely and may even go crazy. A witch of envy would definitely want to do that, i think
Well actually there were 9 sins in total in the past. Namely Sloth ,Greed, Gluttony, Wrath, Pride, Lust and Envy, which are the 7 sins as we know plus there were Vanity/Vainglory and Melancholy. But later Vanity/Vainglory got added into Pride while Melancholy got added into Sloth. Thus the sins were reduced to 7. It's just that the author of Re Zero added these extra sins in the story as separate entities. Also the reason why Petelgeuse starts to bleed and is going crazy is because he is incompatible with the sin of Sloth. Actually you are not suppose to take in a Witch Factor. It's the Witch factor that chooses us if we are compatible with it. If an incompatible person takes in a Witch Factor then they would end up in a state similar to Petelgeuse. Witch Factors usually latches itself into its next host as soon as the previous holder dies. It's next host is chosen to be a person nearest to the Witch Factor and also the most compatible with it. So when Petelgeuse died, the Witch Factor choose Subaru not because he killed him, but the reason being that he was the most compatible person nearby. How did the Witch Factor came into Petelgeuse's possession, Why was he holding onto it, What was the box that the Witch Factor was stored into, Also how the hell was someone able to trap the Witch Factor into the box are all some more mysteries that might get answered later. But all these mysteries might be connected to the person 'FLUGEL' , whom Petelgeuse mentioned. Just incase you forgot, the only detail we know about Flugel is that he planted the 'Flugel's tree' on the Lifaus Highway for some reason. We don't know anything more about him as of yet. Now about Pandora, We don't know why Pandora brought Regulus here to the Elior Forest. But if I were to guess then I would say that there are some limitations to her powers. Like if she were all powerful then why would she bother even coming here. She could just sit in her throne or something and make things move as she wishes. But she still had to come here along with Regulus Corneas and the Black Serpent along with some more cultists. I think it indicates that she might have SOME LIMITATIONS to her power, like there must be some conditions to activating it. Also if you think that THIS is enough to break Emilia, that her backstory cannot be any tragic, then you are NOT READY for the next episode. Brace yourself for the Wave of Suffering that is going to come your way in the next episode.
It was implied that she could’ve just totally went to the Forest all by herself but she brought Regulus and the Black Serpent just to see their desperation and seek joy on seeing their faces morph into helplessness and desperation in an attempts to thwart her.
In the web novel there was a conversation between Archi and random witch cultist. He told that Pandota is "forbidden witch" her existence is one of the main secrets of the cult and cultists even not allowed to discuss Pandora between themselves.
Fun fact : Pandora controls the lesser spirits the whole time to lure Emilia out and to lure her in the seal. Another fact : Vainglory and Melancholy is one of the original sins but got changed by Pride and Envy. Another fact : Pandora in Greek mythology is the one who opened the "Pandora's Box" that contains all the sins of the world. Also, the way the WN/LN introduce Pandora is she's so beautiful that even Gods can't touch her.
I think Emilia got broken because her memories were sealed so she didn't recognise what happen in the trial or maybe what she saw was altered because of the seal
And there she is, nobody saw that coming. The story that is told is that Envy was the big bad, wich she still may be in a way. But now we met a whole new player and leyer to the plot.
Kind of interesting Authority the Witch of Vanity holds, isn't it? Imagine, at some critical points in the story she comes in and starts to rewrite things that affects the Royal Selection Camps, and then Subaru happens to have a savepoint say like five days back, and he has to figure out a way that beats or works around her interference... :3
The way Beatrice talks about Puck and Geuse It makes me think that once there was a cute group of friends Beatrice, a great spirit Geuse, a great spirit Puck, a great spirit Flugel, maybe a leader of the church, maybe the sage that sealed Satella; Or maybe even Satella was a part of this group Imagine that, that would be crazy af
@@Rachanant i've heard of a lot of people that the autor said that if all witches of sin without counting satella and pandora and all bishops have a fight, the only one remaining would be regulus.

Rest in peace Regulu's wives. He definitely killed them in his following tantrum after he got 'yeeted' by Pandora. "She's literally a god. She's not a witch she's a goddess." This is exactly how the novels want you to interpret her too. Pandora is described as like divine radiance made flesh. Her beauty is so inhuman that anyone to even look upon her would tremble. That even God would hesitate to touch her, the very act being taboo against her beauty. Her design also reflects this 'higher being' theme she has going on. We as fragile mortals wear clothes to protect us from the environment. Pandora is completely naked under that table cloth poncho, which she only wears to be considerate of others. Indicating she is above the dangers of the world around her. She prefers things to be in their natural state. So she's this weird nudist angel basically. Also given that Pandora is naked under that cloth, when Regulu's was in the ground looking up at Pandora, he was more than likely looking at her 'box'. Regulu's lack of a reaction here is actually important to his character believe it or not. It will be something that makes sense later when his character gets more exploration.
This witch was so obscured that even in the current light novel any trace of her was still not seen. The fact that this witch was able to bring such aversion and disgust to Echidna is pretty telling on how terrible this person is. I believe that it is also due to her Authority that most of the world blames Satella.
