Thanks for this it worked a treat, I had to use my dental pick which was a lot smaller, I filed the end as it was too sharp and it still was a bit stubborn so dipped the pick in hand sanitizer gel and that lubed it up enough for it to come off,

That's exactly what I wanted to say, lube the contact area of the hose and the pipe.
I was thinking of oil though.

Thanks. It will not be reused. It is always smart to spend a few dollars for a new hose.
