I absolutely love Mortens' voice in this. He puts real emotion into it, and his tone is just superb. Morten always enounces his words so clearly... this is a beautiful masterpiece.
Playing live is the rule for this band; unfortunately sometimes this is not possible. However, those who know a-ha know that they many times do not accept to participate in events if they can not perform live ! Who has seen them live knows that they are a fabulous band (like few others) and that their lives are better than studio performances.

It depends on the show, most TV shows back when a-ha started, in America like American Bandstand Solid Gold and SOul Train were always playback, its a cost thing for the shows producers to set up all that is required for a LIVE performance, bands rehearse, plug things in, sound monitors, more entourages etc...all that has to be paid for by the TV SHOW, so many do not foot the bill and in some cases the bands are not going to shovel out to do a 4 minute spot on a show.
Do many bands in europe perform playback in usual or is it especially a-ha? I know and everyone knows Morten is a great vocalist but sometimes I get kind of confused and wonder what is really like about this. I bet there must be a reason.
Playback is common during TV shows both in Europe and the USA. Primarely because of production of TV show. The producers don't want to deal With technical problems that might effect the time of a broadcast. Needless to say, A-ha plays and sings live during regulare concerts.
Indeed it is precisely the opposite, at least about a-ha; they are used to play live althought when all the other would make a playback; it is that there some times it s not possible because of matter of practicality. Kisses
