reading through these lyrics, the 3rd time around hearing the song, really breaks my heart. I cannot imagine having gone through this as a child; having never known that part of my family. But I know people who have gone through similar things and I cannot fathom how difficult that would have been.

and somebody needs skills to be in time? just have to play a with metronome to know how to be in time.

the metronome is for practice i leave that a long time ago ,,i have played with the enough people to know that isnt a big deal ,to play in time.
with my father never being in my life just made me strong and realize the kind of man i want to be with in the future

Yeah this song hits close to home the only thing I remember about my father is when I was five. He told me I was the man of the house and I had to watch my little brother and mother, quite frankly I'm glad he did that because I wouldn't be the man I am today.

This song means so much to me.. My parents split up when i was 6 years old and my father disappeared not long after, abandoning my two brothers and I. I cried for years hoping one day he would just call. Everyday after school I would ask my mom if dad called. 13 years later...........he called. He called because one of his sons passed away. My little brother.
I now have two beautiful children of my own and I AM the man he'll never be...

That's what this song is for me. He may not have abandoned me because he wanted a baby of a different gender, but he was neglectful and abusive to me.
