Damn, I was abandoned by my father when i was 1 years old. I am a 20 year old student at FSU now and have yet to meet the man. This songs hits deep, thank you guys.

This song made me cry about growing up without a father for the first time ever, really just reminds me of how strong my mother is for raising 2 kids on her own.
reading through these lyrics, the 3rd time around hearing the song, really breaks my heart. I cannot imagine having gone through this as a child; having never known that part of my family. But I know people who have gone through similar things and I cannot fathom how difficult that would have been. This is a beautiful, very clearly heartfelt and personal song.

I’ve listened to this song for the past 12 years because it is the exact definition of what our relationship was my family keeps begging me to try to make amends, but there’s nothing to make amends for I moved forward as a new dad myself doing my damnest to be every bit the opposite of what he ever was I promise myself I’ll be the best man /dad I can ever be to prove that I am nothing like him.
