  • Watching the waves can prove dangerous for many spectators. On Kauai, a family -- including their young child -- was swept up by a massive wave. The terrifying scene was captured on camera.

    We were taught at a young age not to turn your back to the ocean.
    I would think it’s more of a common sense thing especially if the water is gnarly

    I got an idea! How about if just before the airplanes full of tourists land they could show a video of hapless tourists being swept away and smashed into rocks.

  • @SilentKnight43
    @SilentKnight43 10 месяцев назад

    Here in Niagara Falls we have a variation on this - tourists who climb over the safety rails at the brink of the Falls. Because getting two feet closer to the Falls with your camera really makes the photo so much better. Getting footage of you sliding down wet grass on an embankment on the way to your death - priceless.

    Red iPad and all vacation photos... Scrap!
    This reminds me of a few years ago a family left Alaska to vacation in Arizona in the summer-time. (Darwin Alert) They decided to hike local mountains in the middle of the day, didn't bring any water and didn't listen to locals when they were told to turn back they'd gone to far. As a result, I think a couple of them died.

    Not surprising that a bunch of comments here are arrogantly claiming this is a non-event. A small child knocked down in that water, as insignificant as people are ignorantly saying it is, could not only be injured, but more seriously carried out to sea in the backwash before an adult could stop it from happening. But so what? It's easy to be a jerk when you're sitting at your computer.

    What about making some interesting very short videos that hotels can show on their television systems that show a lot of the easy to get into dangerous situations that can catch tourists unaware. They will think that it’s interesting to watch, but mothers with children need the graphic demonstrations. They will be made more alert to their surrounding.
