Man, I really want to see God of War 3 on this screen It's going to be great Note that the RPCS3 emulator supports 21:9 Please tell me you will make a video of this game
Hows the coating on these? Considering returning the 34" Odyssey G8 I just picked up for the 34" version of the LG but nowhere around me carries them in stock so I have no way of viewing one in person. Ive read tons of conflicting reviews about the coating. This is my first QD OLED, prior to this G8 I had a C4, and before that I had a C2.
Personally I don’t have an issue with it, it’s excellent at anti glare and for me I don’t think it really messes with image quality at all. I know for some people though glossy is the only way to go and I can understand that, I think it’s just fine
@@udubultra Im not sure if im a glossy die hard or not, however I feel like I would prefer another WOLED. Ive had to do a LOT of tinkering with this G8 to get it to a point where it doesnt sear my eyes, and its not even that bright. Im guessing it may have something to do with lack of polarizer on the QDOLED as well as the Subpixel layout of these 1st gen panels. Even in a completely dark room with keyboard illumination switched off, it feels like greys and blacks glow/shimmer slightly purple and I find it very hard to focus. If I turn on the lamp in the corner of the room (which is behind the monitor and acts as a form of bias lighting, 0 direct light) the blacks and greys really start to lift and turn purple-ish and everything starts to fall apart. Have you used one of the 34" QD OLED panels, or seen one in person before? If so, how do they stack up in terms of brightness? Do dark areas lose detail and look oily on the LG due to the coating? Do bright areas and skies look grainy and washed out? Do colours lose much of their pop in HDR? Also, what bias lighting are you using behind the monitor? Is that the monitors built in lighting? My apologies for all of the questions. Since I would have to special order one to get it locally, it would be a final sale item. $1300 is a lot to spend on something without doing research and asking questions first.
So personally I have never used a QD-OLED before, so unfortunately I can't compare to that directly. I have had a CX in the past though and also currently have a 65" C1. If it helps, I play on this thing significantly more than my C1, to the point that the C1 is pretty much just a movie TV now for the living room. All of my gaming is pretty much done on this LG45, that is how much I enjoy it. Now speaking of my experience with this LG45, I have no issue whatsoever with the brightness, and I have this thing alongside an INNOCN 4k Mini LED. In other words, I know how bright a display can be thanks to the INNOCN, and I still do not have any complaints about the LG and what it can do. Now in terms of color and dark areas because of the coating, this monitor is the reason I stopped really caring about coating or glossy vs antiglare. I'm not saying others are wrong in their assessment with anti-glare screens, as I'm sure there are some bad ones out there, but again coming from a C1 owner once I dialed my settings in on this LG UltraWide I've had no issues with colors, dark scenes, nothing like that. Now I will say, it does take some time to dial your settings in on this monitor; out the box, it may seem dim. You've definitely got to spend some time dialing in both your desktop settings (if you have Win11, using the Win11 HDR Calibration tool), and also dialing in your monitor settings with the Peak Brightness settings, Color temp, etc. I play in a dark room so perhaps that's the differentiating factor, but I've heard people complain about the brightness this puts out and personally I wonder if they've adjusted their settings properly, because again I've had no issues while also owning a Mini-LED monitor that is sitting right next to it. The lighting you're seeing around the monitor is a Nanoleaf 4d system (camera and lighstrip), the camera reads the colors on screen and projects them to the lightstrip to create the ambient lighting, it is not the monitors built in lighting which is just a small LED effect that I think is barely even noticeable when on.

This monitor is a beast, got the previous model GN850-b, 3440x1440p 165hz nano ips. its amazing...
That’s awesome, I hope you’re enjoying it!
would you ever go back and play other cod campaigns? MW19 would look crazy on this monitor
Yeah I think that’d be a great idea for the beginning of the year when new releases slow down, I’d love to revisit all of them
Would you recommend video editing on this monitor with good color accuracy?
Yeah I think it would be a good display for video editing. Please note though that I am not a professional editor

Hello, do you notice a lot of difference in sharpness between 4k and 3440x1440?
There is a difference for sure, but for gaming especially I don’t really think it’s that big, it enough for me to not enjoy the LG
LG G3 or G4 are the best tv hands down
Hi, can you play star citizen?
