We're gonna miss you, buddy. Thanks for all of the chills and taking horror to a new level, showing that you can make horror intelligent and give it a subtle social commentary. R.I.P sir. You will be missed.
Wonderful, brilliant, candid man. Revel in all those silly mistakes professed by a once novice movie director. Those quirky films with silly mistakes are the core reasons you had us hooked. Thank you Mr. Romero for a life's work of utter splendor.
I'm *still* mourning over George, so I can't even *fathom* how devasted His family is. But, I knew in heart that He'd pass at some point during my life... though I wasn't ready for it. You may be Gone, George, but you'll *Never* be Forgotten
God bless him for still showing such enthusiasm over a 45+ year old movie that's been discussed to death. George seems like such a nice dude. I want to buy him a beer.
I think in horror zombies were a missing piece of the pie, George Romero gave that to his audience and is an amazing wonderful creative man. I think the characteristics of zombies gave monsters some creative new features.
Thank you for this upload. George A. Romero, you are missed. We lost the Godfather of modern horror. My condolences to his friends and family. From this clip I learned that l am such a zombie nerd (more like a Romero nerd) and also that it's ok to make mistakes in films -just release them and don't look at them for three or four years. 😊
Thank You for Having this Outstanding Man at TIFF. I want to wish him a very Safe & Happy Birthday to you George Romero Feb .4th .2013 Take care God Bless .Joe Hart
Had the pleasure of being at this screening. I had missed out on a few chances to see Romero talk in Toronto before, but luckily made it to this one. The mic audio wasn't bad in person, if I remember correctly. The levels must've been set too high in recording.
I really hope that George gets to make those two other zombie films that he started with Diary of the Dead. Yes, Diary and Survival are not his best, but I still find them very interesting in that it is great to see zombies and how people react to them in current times. I like the Walking Dead, Zombieland and others, but George's films have a special look to them that he has that many of these other films don't have. Land of the Dead is not his best, but it is his best looking film.
Why is the host addressing the audience and not Romero? BTW, Romero isn't famous for the 'Living Dead Trilogy', it's the '...of the Dead Trilogy'. The living dead movies stand separate, dumbbell.
I love George A. Romero he is my favorite director. Yet I wonder, did he ever mention Black Ops Zombies: Call of the Dead? That would be very awesome if he did.
If you guys enjoy this movie please check out our channel and our Reenactment of George's classic! We reenact the cemetery scene! Let us know what you think! "Night of the living dead 1968 reenactment - cemetery scene" Decay is headed your way!
Weak interview. Romero mentions things about Night of the Living Dead he didn't like, and this interviewer NEVER pursues it. Same with several other potentially interesting topics.
GAR is one of my heroes and ya, it's hard to stand, the mic thing is very annoying. But it's not a case of wrong handling, it's the fault of the sound engineer
HI guys could you Please show the HALLOWEEN NIGHT with George Romero Video clip @ Tiff IN CONVERSATION WITH There is only the last night not the first night Night I put together a CREEPSHOW~EXPO for him and you guys 0CT. 31. 2012{With my personal collection]this was an OUTSTANDING event with Collin. George Romero did in fact thank me by telling me to stand up and address the crowd that attended this event. This was out of my personal collection and it was non-profit to the fans for the fans.THX U
Romero is open & honest in this interview. The film is so very overrated, its cult status is now used by others to keep making money. His honesty is refreshing when the interviewer keeps trying to attribute deeper meanings to it. Was not part of his crew but did some post on some of his later films in Pgh. Even then could see that the poor quality was not just because of the low budget.
First, I love the hell out of George Romero but as a matter of fact his work on: • 'Land Of The Dead', • 'Diary Of The Dead' • and Survival Of The Dead' sucks balls compared to his earlier work on Night, Dawn & Day and that includes the Savini/Romero remake of Night. And I know that Romero likes being credited for creating the modern Zombie but that just isn't true. That prize goes to H.P. Lovecraft who in his 1921-22 series Herbert West:Reanimator" introduced the idea of the zombie as a brain dead reanimated corpses with a violent uncontrollable temperament. The combination of R. Mathison's I am legend and Lovecraft's "Reanimator" sets the stage for the modern Zombie and Night Of The Living Dead.
You are completely wrong! He was the first to create the idea of the recently dead coming back to life and eating people .I have no idea why you are talking semantics and trying to give Matheson and lovecraft credit for inventing something that they simply did not even come close to. i think that the problem is that you're one of those assholes that love to disagree just to be contrarian..
You are incorrect. Actually it was Richard Matheson that came up with the notion of the recently dead coming back to life and feeding off the living. It was introduced in the 1954 book "I Am Legend.". The first film based on that Book was the 1964 film "The Last Man On Earth" Even George Romero admits that he ripped the Idea from Matheson. Good Luck Little sport
Zombies are a metaphor for the neighbors you never got to know that have fallen on hard times. The remedy is to shooting them rather then helping.. They are your neighbors...
Hi is there a person I could contact to View this Event on HALLOWEEN Night Inconversation With } It Ment the World to me That Mr. Romero to my Astonishment ask me to Stand up to the APPLAUSE of The Crowd at Tiff light Box This was a Life time Acheivement for Me over 3 Decades. Where was this interview produced? Is this stadium a part of a college film school interview? Horrible lighting, the audience should be lit and you should be able to see the people asking the questions. Very bad planning and over modulated mics.
24:48 because feminism is about making a caricature of masculinity. barbara is not a "strong" character. but she's a fully fledged, three-dimensional character, really more well-defined even than ben. very stupid question and a misguided answer from romero.
Romero is going to die soon...and he's not going to be able to make a 100 million dollar movie. :( :( ... Not that he NEEDS to.. but he's a filmmaker that SHOULD.
+Mc Whopper We also think similar. Yes, I am a retro genre film collector. But when it comes to the big names of the proverbial big boys of the retro slashers, gialli from Italy, zombie "epics" and anthology wrap around stories, I love some work from Craven, Carpenter, Romero and Hooper plus Argento & others. But I also don't kid myself: By the time the mid '90s rolled in, most of 'em (super sadly and with all due respect now) made some pretty bad/inept to shit house flicks. Tobe Hooper especially just has four retro titles that I adore much like Mr. Romero (albeit five in his case) before he sadly has expiated to retire up in Canada apparently to make his shit-house zombie flicks regardless of whom all defends'em online.
Fuck you go on make a movie that changes not only the Zombie genre but the world. Can't? Sux to be a lil talentless bitch like you. Oh shit you are you. Oh well.
Fuck you talentless ballers wonder who only gets off by seeing his little bitch opinion on line. Virgin alert apparently. George was is and always will be and your just some little hoto living in mommy and Da da's basement. Nancy boy.
Hi everyone, we have re-uploaded this talk on our channel with fixed audio. Take a look!
Why not put a link so we dont have to scroll through your channel to find the video?
Yes, you should provide a link, not make people search your channel.

Romero is a genius he's a great director
Romero created the whole modern zombie genre. Without him and his movies there would be no Walking Dead.
The MC is in love with his own voice. Romero knows how to handle a microphone.
+*mgenigma5* Obvious why you replied like that XD I saw your comment :P
An event held for film students and someone didn't even set up the audio levels properly on their microphones. Ironic?
Gggmanlives Early camera work sucked too.
+Gggmanlives "An event held for film students and someone didn't even set up the audio levels properly on their microphones. Ironic?" LMFAO
+Gggmanlives It's really bad when that interviewer guy with the glasses speaks as he holds the mic so damn close to his mouth.
From incompetent adult brats they are practicing to be incompetent film makers and crew.
Been following your videos for quite some time. Please to see you here, outside of FPS games. Glad Romero's touch has an universal reach.
RIP Mr. Romero.
As a hobbyist and artist, I understand George's methodology here. George Romero was legendary and a genius.
Wonderful, brilliant, candid man. Revel in all those silly mistakes professed by a once novice movie director. Those quirky films with silly mistakes are the core reasons you had us hooked. Thank you Mr. Romero for a life's work of utter splendor.
Thanks George A Romero and Gene Roddenberry for knocking down the barriers for African American leads.

Batman8657 it's too late he is dead now
I Love George Romero
This interviewer loves his own voice and his own thoughts. Look elsewhere for Romero.
Imagine how much money he would've made if they didn't screw up the copyright with Night of the Living Dead.
My favorite George A. Romero How did I miss this. Thank you for sharing.
N.O.T.L.D. is on cable all the time. What a shame that George didn't get the money he deserved. As well as the cast and crew.
I think in horror zombies were a missing piece of the pie, George Romero gave that to his audience and is an amazing wonderful creative man. I think the characteristics of zombies gave monsters some creative new features.
Learned about film in undergrad never pursued a career but Romero makes me want to make a zombie movie. His movies and style are one of a kind.

I watched Carnival of Souls last night and can see the influence on Romero, but that's if he saw the movie before he made NOTLD (1968)
such a nice and down to earth dude.
Why is the host addressing the audience and not Romero?
BTW, Romero isn't famous for the 'Living Dead Trilogy', it's the '...of the Dead Trilogy'. The living dead movies stand separate, dumbbell.
5:58, G.Romero talks about the details of the movie.
wish he made his resident evil version!
this interview is awesome, I wonder if we will see some other movie by Romero again, I hope he work on another flick soon
What a great man !
I love George A. Romero he is my favorite director. Yet I wonder, did he ever mention Black Ops Zombies: Call of the Dead? That would be very awesome if he did.
Great sound.
night of the living dead started an era of zombie films
saw it in 70, still my favorite movie !! But remake in 90 is just as good...
I love this guy.
the return of the living dead is the best
I dont know if anyone noticed but at 22 minutes into it the guy in the audience is horror review guy aka HMRG

wheres his iconic glasses??
Back off the mic, compere dude! Yikes!
Yeah, I had to stop watching it was so annoying.
Calm. Down.
George understands the microphone should be kept 7 inches from the mouth. Interviewer trying to eat that thing

I didn't know George A. Romero is real person :0 (Call of Duty Black Ops zombies Call of the Dead)
I had a color TV on 1968 and most news shows were in "Living Color"
Just sayin'
THE ZOMBIR GOD :O I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!
You cleary never takes sarcastic comments lightly.

Trilogy there were six films
At 37:33 George says the zombies in Zombieland aren't dead. Yes, George, they are.
who else is here from call of the dead
this man is god!!! :D
24:48 because feminism is about making a caricature of masculinity.

interviewer doesn't even know what the cahier du cinéma is... ouch
The audio is more debilitating than a zombie bite. Good stuff though.
Zombie master
george remero > stan lee
It's not all conceit George! check out no more room in hell!
When there is No More Room in Hell, the dead will walk the earth...

Very poorly prepared and executed-- audio, lighting, the whole thing.

Ezra Sky u called it man :(
Ezra Sky he died literally the day after you posted this. YOU PREDICTED THIS YOU KNOW SOMETHING RIP GEORGE
I told you.
Ezra Sky wow you jerk wow you killed him
I just warned people... do with the information what you will.
George Romero is perversely overrated. He did one great movie-"Night of the Living Dead" 1968, the rest was bullshit.
mrzoperxplex , you need to see "Martin," available freely on RUclips.
His movies stopped being good after Day of the Dead.
True.
