I like to imagine when you come back to catch them after the dlc story, Okidogi and Fezandipiti are SUPER pissed at you for ruining their fame, but Monkidori is just an annoyed "Oh... it's YOU again..."
Okidogi prides himself on his strength. It's what he cares about above all else. You bet that he is *livid* that he came back to life just to be beaten and foiled again.
to anyone having trouble with these fights i surprisingly recommend bringing a golduck, he can use simple beam or skill swap to get rid of the toxic chain and then just spam screech till he faints so you can sweep with an earthquake user :)
I’m a dark and poison type user so they couldn’t do much 💀 although the stupid morpeko paralyzed it on the same turn i swapped in my salazzle to poison it and I was absolutely malding. Never wanted to punt a hamster so badly in my life

If you want a historical basis: Kitakami is similar to that one port in Japan where only a handful of foreigners could do trade (i.e., the Portuguese and Dutch if I'm correct) when Japan was isolated from the outside world. And Portugal is basically part of the Iberian Peninsula where Paldea is based on.
In my case fortunately I realized there would likely be DLC so I went out of my way to not gain exp for things like catching Pokémon and battling in the academy ace tournament (when I did catching new Pokémon I made sure to use other Pokémon instead)
I took a whole level 100 team and… yeah a breeze lol, just carry a ceruledge with swords dance, close combat and bitter blade… and you have an easy win
SPOILERS for those beside this guy basically you're on a school trip in Kitakami, and you encounter Ogerpon but something brings the Loyal Trio back to life, they steal the other 3 masks and try to get revenge on Ogerpon...since the stories are reversed the normal story told in Kitakami is that Ogerpon was a ruthless Oni who attacked and that the Loyal Trio defended the village in reality, Ogerpon was simply just a pokemon with masks and a friend...the Trio were thieves who stole its masks and killed their friend, so Ogerpon rampaged and took them out but the villagers misunderstood
Oh thats simple...its the crystals, they are what allow for terastalizing the crystals in area zero of Paldea, and the crystals in the pool on top of the Oni Mountain in Kitakami any area with the crystals has terastalizing@@Fireash007

That battle theme is insanely catchy, the one thing game freak never messes up on are their great tracks

After you complete the story, go back to where you fought them and you can rebattle them in normal size and catch them
