Thanks so much for this Craig. I'm one of the newbies attending in 2024 for the first time. This guide is really helpful so thankyou so much. If I see you at The Ruskin or The House of Secrets then I'll get you a drink to say thankyou 👍
Absolutely fantastic Craig! I couldn’t agree more with everything you said! Going to the Blackpool magic convention is a dream come true every year!!!!!!
Hi Craig, thank you for doing this video. This will be Rhonda and my first Blackpool. We met you at the coffee shop in Vegas the day before Magic Live. That was the highlight of our convention! We look so forward to seeing you and Ryland at Blackpool! Your friends, David and Rhonda (the Goldmans)
Hearing about the stench of body odour is partly what keeps me away from Blackpool 🤢 Can’t be too hard to shower daily and take freshly laundered clothing?
There's not a problem with smell at Blackpool in the dealer room or anywhere else. That's just pure exaggeration. Sure there is the smell of people (and lynx!) that is the same in any pub in the UK or any crowded venue or train/bus etc. But to say I'm not going due to the smell, or similar, is crazy. It's life. You may as well be afraid to get out of bed or cross the road.
Yeah I totally agree! Craig’s comment brought tears of laughter to my eyes! Yes sometimes you can find yourself standing next to someone with Bad bo! But that applies to anywhere! All I can say is that I agree with all the points Craig made about the convention. It’s simply the BEST experience hands down for anyone interested in magic
@@PreservationEnthusiast Not the same with any crowded venue - I work as a musician in theatres, nightclubs, festivals, pubs and social clubs and have never experienced a cumulative effect of hundreds of people whose personal hygiene has gone to pot! Must be a peculiar problem amongst magicians? I’ve never been to BMC but so many magicians have said, publicly and privately, that body odour is an unpleasant problem - so I choose not to attend.
@@AndyCooper761 Musician is a bit different though. Because you're performing you usually have your own space around you. You're not right on top of people so much. The worst thing I find is the Tube in rush hour because it is hot underground and people have spent all day at work sometines. Magic conventions I don't have a problem with including Bkackpool. In fact I find some of the aftershave or other crap people people put on worse than sweat. Ditto women's fruity perfumes. Can't stand them, but you don't get so many women at Magic Conventions!!

Are people able to help newbies with performing?
Great advice, so easy Luke Dancey can do it.
Getting fomo now 😂
This year certainly does look to be something very special.
Wear warm clothes as Craig said, you can leave your coat for a small fee as it gets very hot in the dealers hall.

That is the sad truth about most human people...They don't even have the basics about hygiene.
