- When I heard the Flite Test guys were going to be in Salt Lake linking up with the Shonduras crew, I decided it would be a perfect time to go link up with them as well as the Flying Cowboys to do a little flying. High elevation strips, rivers and deep canyons made for some awesome bush flying!

I always thought of bush flying as a necessity in remote places like Alaska, I didn't know that it was a sport or hobby. It's about the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Yeah, it’s not just people lugging hunters around in AK, us lower 48 guys like to have some fun in them! (The AK guys do too, at some point I need to make the trek up there to fly with some of them)
Trent Palmer yes you do! Alaska is the best bush there is in my opinion. Check out my videos for a preview of what to expect! Love your videos man.
This was one of the best days of my life! To think I almost missed it is crazy to me. So grateful to meet you and the crew. Next time you're here let's get up in the sky!!
Absolutely! So glad you didn't let your fears hold you back! I will definitely let you know next time I am in your neck of the woods!
Loved the video, the music, and the scenery! Awesome job!
Wait a minute, I know you from somewhere....
Thanks Trent for the inspiration; Kitfox V4 in the barn being built right now. Can't wait.
Awesome! Keep her light and she will out perform my plane any day
Being a former Marine Harrier pilot and currently an Instructor Pilot for a major airline...your videos have have brought back the trill of why I love to fly. Amazing stuff!
Thank you for this video. I've been a fan of "flight test" for a couple... few, years. The very epitome of freedom is shown to me by your video blog, Trent. I can't show enough appreciation for work like this, well done!
I came from Ogden, Utah and went to PA and holy moly I miss the Mountains and canyons. Those drives on the highway into Salt Lake from the deep canyons and it opens up gets me every time.
That was GREAT! My two faves in one video! Flite Test and Trent Palmer! I was cheesing even more than Stefan! You could feel his excitement just oozing out! Amazing photo work Trent! Thanks again! The extras with the tools, the ancient drawings and the drone work all helped the coolness of this video!
Amazing scenery.
Much better than any Casey Neistat video
Michael Van Heemst And Trent doesn't look like a mongoloid.
Rjh Rhjj yeah
Casey has absolutely nothing on this.
hahaha damn
Moved to Salt Lake for grad school and never left. It really is gorgeous here. Got my PPL cuz it was a burning itch. Trent, your videos make me feel like I need to see a doctor for this itch. And you know what I like most? You actually interact with your followers. That is truly awesome. ~john
Okay.... Been watching a few videos, a kitfox is officially on my bucket list now! Trent, great job on the videos man, you are doing awesome!! Keep the vids coming and thanks for your hard work, editing and sharing these experiences with us! You truly motivate me and a lot of others!
Thanks man! Glad you are enjoying the videos!
Same here!
Definitely on my bucket list to. My original goal is to become a commercial pilot but I'd like bush flying to be my hobby and something to do on the side as well as my real job.
Chuck I owned one for a year or so. Nice model 4 with glass panel. Go with a 7 super sport, you won't regret it, as soon as I settle down I'm gonna be building my next kitfox
@@msc6227 if you can afford to get your PPL and build 500 hours (which would be rather cheap in a Kitfox) there's aerial survey/mapping companies that'll hire you and you can build hundreds of hours per year. Once you build the hours there you can get an ATP and step up into regional airlines, then someday possibly make it at a major airline.
The problem is:
- You need around $80k and 2 to 3 years to build 500 hours. It could be done in less, but you have to be rich enough to afford not working full-time.
- You need at least another 3 to 4 years to hit 2500. During that time you'll be making rather mediocre pay (~$40k/year)
- From there you'll end up as a first officer making $40k to $80k for the next 5 to 12 years.
- Finally, after 10 to 20 years, you make Captain! Even if you started when you were 20, you'll likely be pushing 40. Good luck keeping that First Class Medical. Any number of otherwise mundane health problems could derail your entire career. Literally an entire life's work, everything you did to get to that point, can be lost overnight.
I'm not saying it's unrealistic, in fact I provided a little known option (i.e. aerial survey/mapping) as an option to make money and build hours super fast. It's not impossible, just go into it understanding that you won't start out with a six figure salary and despite your best efforts it can all be for nothing if you simply get unlucky. Just be sure that it's what you **really** want, and have a backup plan/exit strategy that won't leave you financially ruined if things don't work out. I hope that someday I have the privilege of flying on a plane you're the Captain of and wish you the best.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful landscapes.
Thanks for sharing your experience, difficult to watch without smiling with appreciation.

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing all of your epic flying adventures. Stay real and keep posting your awesome videos!

Sweet video. This is making me want to fly back out west with my plane and do some exploring. Thanks for posting.
Found your channel today and can't thank you enough. I was wondering if you had thought about flying Utah's back country. I've been around on the ground but, I know of a lot of places you'd like to see from the air as well. Luckily, you found the right people to show it to you in person. Thanks for sharing.
That's incredible. I was in a wilderness group as a teenager. I lived in the Utah desert for 63 day's. I remember hiking up Cedar mountain and walkong across that airstrip. It's fascinating to see you guys actually landing their. Wow. If i recall there was a rock that looked like a huge tower near their.
Stefan's enthusiasm is so infectious
This is my favorite RUclips channel. Love the video quality and love what you guys are doing. I have an Avid Mark IV. I’m getting it ready for some off airport operations this Spring. Would love to see some videos from you Trent on how amateurs can get started videoing their flights with standard equipment. Thanks again
So much freedom, so much autonomy, beautiful landscapes. Awesome! :-D
Yo Dude ... Mr. Palmer ... What an AWESOME video and what an AWESOME group of guys. Can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed watching this video and many of your other flying videos. Looking forward to more. A big THANK YOU to you and the entire crew in this video.

Greetings from Germany btw. 😃👍
Your intro completely kicks ass!
One of the best videos I've seen! I had a smile on my face the entire time. The geek/nerd in me has to give a shout out to the dude sporting a Mass Effect hoodie at 11:08 !
How is this not going viral?! This is literally THE LIFE. Fly, explore, enjoy. I've fallen deep into a bush plane K-hole and I kind of hope I get stuck down here.
Pure freedom. Lucky guys.

Well that was so special in meeting up with ther Flitest gang,it never ceases to amaze me what beautiful places you discover and to hear that people were dumping rubbish out there and you cleaned it up,very commendable ? was that a Wilga version ? we need to now more about that particular airplane and what engine it is fitted with, lovely video footage thank you Trent for allowing us to share your passion.
Hey trent you're my inspiration and one day I would love to go flying with you and your friends. I'm currently working to finish paying off my kf3 and I watch your blogs and get even more motivated to continue. Thank you.
Thank you for making this video. Thank you for re inspiring me. Thank you for sharing aviation in such an amazing light. I’m subscribed and will be following close.
Some time ago I stopped Pershing my pilots license because I was turned off by the FAA and it’s regulations as well as the cost. I still go out and take opportunities to ride as often as I can but this has re ignited my fire to become a pilot myself.
yup still one of my favorites
Love the content!
Fantastic!
Always used to hate the Kit Fox, now I think I’m gonna get one haha! Another great vid
Cool to see the Flitetest guys on here! I got interested in drones in 2014 and build my own from their tutorials. Small world when RUclips is involved. Great video.
