Yes he really do look like John Bonham, My Dad was pretty lucky meeting John Bonham at a Bar in Downtown Toronto Ontario Canada back in 1962 and John Signed his Drum Stick for my Dad, he past it over to me I have in cased in Acrylic Tubing.👍
I agree that the HD dry is something special. I used one for an entire college basketball band season and, other than the coating being slightly compressed in the center, it still looked new and sounded like a large handgun.
I bought my current drum set back in 1998, from my uncle. It is a Ludwig from about 1981. It was custom ordered by the original owner, he bought it in about 1991. It is a big kit.
*Using HD dry on my 6.5 DW black nickel over brass and 6.5 Supraphonic 402 and for me, it’s perfect. 300 resonant on bottom. 200 was too delicate, good for symphonic. ** I bought a pack of the RED hydraulics for the tom batters to help in the acoustic challenges I faced and they were the silver bullet. *** Received a free 14” UV1 for the snare and…oh my goodness! The second layer seems to be fused to the first and frankly, it’s impossible for a snare to sound this good this easy! The surface is etched for brushes if you so choose and doesn’t get all back and dirty. ****Using the EMAD2 on all my base drums for some time and also purchased the new EMAD2 HEAVY to build gong drums. The outer band gives you the option of no dampening ring, light ring, heavy ring. Choice! What’s not to like? *****Evans black Resonant on all the bottom heads. I’ve been a Remo loyalist forever, but the new 360* technology has been a real game changer!
Paul stated that the Rock pack and Standard pack both have the same sizes (10-12-16), but the Standard pack has 12-13-16 sizes for those of you who didn't catch the error.
Thanks for the informations! I put it in my playlist and I did put a like. Sorry, I thought “standard” was 12” 13” and 16”. They don’t have 10”. Thanks!
Evans Hydraulic Glass drum heads but i don't know why there is oil in between the heads are they for Dampening, do i have to buy another set of them for the bottom of the Toms as well.
Paul, what would you recommend I replace my heads with? I own a Ludwig Custom Accent series set, 12” & 13” rack toms, a 16” floor tom and 22” bass drum. Your feedback is appreciated.
Evans 360 technology heads have a contour different from Remo in that it has a drop-down curve to sort of hug the shell past the bearing edge as opposed to “stretch across the bearing edge.” You have to see the drawings, but Yes! it makes a BIG difference.
No. The batter head, obviously, takes a beating. The reso head can last much longer. If it's a new drum, however, you may want to replace both. Stock heads usually aren't the best quality.
Forgot to mention that all you’re 2 ply tom heads have some tiny amount of oil fill around the edge between the ply and I’m not referring to the hydraulic heads!
I dont believe 2 ply (emperors/g2 etc) have oil in between plys. I think that is a myth and the rainbow oil like look is just light refraction between between the plys.
I trust this man, mainly because he looks like John Bonham
I don't. His name is Pearl but works for Evans.
AND a cross between Gallagher&Weird AL
😂😂

This was a very comprehensive and well explained review. Great job! We sound techs love those Evans drum heads!!!

how is hardly anyone talking about this man's last name, yet he works for Evans!
He should name his kid Evan Pearl.
Leave Mr tamapex alone
Actions speak "louder" than words 🤣

Which Evans heads are slightly oversized for vintage drums like Gretsch?

When buying drum heads, do you have to buy for both the top and bottom skins of the drum?
No. The batter head, obviously, takes a beating. The reso head can last much longer. If it's a new drum, however, you may want to replace both. Stock heads usually aren't the best quality.
I'm PEARL.....EVANS.
Forgot to mention that all you’re 2 ply tom heads have some tiny amount of oil fill around the edge between the ply and I’m not referring to the hydraulic heads!
I’ve noticed that on my EC2 heads

@@chrisgirth7373 empowers and G2 do not.
Funny, ordered a 6 piece from this company and I’m now here looking at evans heads from the company lol
