  • The fastest way to change a 1 series fuel flap, by far! I've been putting it off for months because of the long winded ways of doing it that I found on the net. There are 4 circles you can pierce through to leaver the inside clips off the body work!
    Pierce the 4 holes.
Twist central locking gromit anti-clockwise to then pull out.
Lever the 2 left clips free whilst pulling and you should notice them release.
Then repeat on the right side.
Pull hard from the left side and it will come out.
    When replacing the new one:
Grease the inner gromit on the new flap and the inside body work to help it slip in.
    Right side in first.
Line up central locking pin and push firmly inwards on all 4 corner where the clips are.
    Additional information:
The flap cover slides off to the left once releasing the clip inside the flap. Do this first so you don't damage the car paint work whist the flap is fully open.

Top man. I knew there would be an easier way. I was thinking of butchering it. Thanks

Thanks so much for the info bro. Me and my friend were able to get the flap changed in about 20-25 mins thanks to your help. Didn't even have to pierce a hole in the seal, the whole thing jus popped out once we broke the 4 clips. Maybe we were just lucky in my case. Thanks again bro, info really helped.

You don't have to make holes, I put a hook in the lock hole. And I pulled harder, and then two clips came out, then I stuck my fingers in and i pulled slightly up and down.
It came out smoothly, so I put it back.

Eu am scos-o fără sa dau gauri, am băgat un cârlig în gaura de la încuietoare și am tras, apoi am smuso cu degetele la împrejur, foarte simplu

Annoyingly, could NOT get mine to shift, even though I had all the clips pushed out of the way, very odd.

You pierced it with a screwdriver? Or you drilled it and then put the screwdriver into the holes?

Sorry mate I'm super late on this. But I used a very slim screwdriver and just lined it up with the marks on the thing and punched it through.
