    You can do wot u did ... all in max ... just make the model elements materials to be BY LAYER and if you wanna get rid of the mesh edges ... convert each model element in MAX to EDITABLE MESH & under the MODIFY TAB go into the EDGE Sublevel & select all edges & scroll down to Edge visibility & choose INVISIBLE ... now u can import MAX models into revit change materials form object styles & even have amazing elevations and sections with clean edges ... :) enjoy. without faking it! :D try it.

      Men thats I always knew that it's possible to do with 3D Max but never could find any video showing this! (I dont master 3dmax, only wanted to learn how to do that). Do you know a video that shows this?

      @@LuisFelipe-xf4mh First you have to right click on your 3D model and convert it to editable mesh (not editable Poly). Then look in your "CommandPanel", under Modify you will find the "Surface Properties" when your are in "Edge-Mode"

    hello sir. i really appreciate Ur effort for making these videos particularly for students please make a detailed video about working on sloped site i.e site with lot of steep contours. like start from how to make required site layout with exact approach roads to finishing. my problem is that road shown in sub-region is not able to show road path like how it is possible with building pad. there are many other doubts and im sure u vl get gud views and response for this video because many of the architecture students are facing issues with designing on contour site that too in revit.

    what about exporting to .FBX or link the model onto Revit directly, not to go through this process?
    I read about it in Autodesk tutorial itself. Perhaps, you have better explaination.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Make the video on 'Revit to 3Ds max Export' for beginners. We know, Revit rendering and walkthrough is little inappropriate. So, I want to use 3Ds max just for rendering and Animation. Please it's very important for me...Hope you will upload soon...Thanks..!! Also tell us about which one suitable for Rendering, '3Ds Max or Lumion' for Revit exported file.

    it is posible to convert mesh in autocad into a solid objeckt? and import in to a revit after that?

  • @OlegGurevich
    @OlegGurevich 5 лет назад +1

    U can do it without AutoCAD and without triangles

    • @OlegGurevich
      @OlegGurevich 4 года назад +1

      @@Lienuses You need to export from 3dsmax dwg in old version and all checkboxes should be turned on. Also in 3ds max layer properties colour of object should be by layer. And also You need to convert an object to edit mesh, select all edges and make them hidden in edit mesh edge settings

      Export to FBX format you got 2 options ... 1. export by material . 2. by category ... choose the best workflow that suits you .... and usually FBX files from revit import with a Sun and sky elements and a camera ... just delete em if your gonna go for HDRI lighting schemes or use custom cameras as VRAY cams.

    Great videos! I’m an Architect and starting to use Revit and wanted to know which laptop you’d recommend for great performance, accessibility and lightweight portability for site meetings, client presentations and measured surveys? I was looking between Dell 13inch or Lenovo X1 yoga(portable and 2-in-1) or Lenovo P1 workstation. Or any other you’d recommend? Do I also need a high discrete graphics card or would integrated 620 be sufficient for revit rendering software or in cloud? At the moment my work is small scale residential design and extensions only. Thanx

    Can we actually calculate the quantity by making schedules of 3ds max projects in revit. Balkan architect..plz let us know about this.

    • @haythamashmawy4922
      @haythamashmawy4922 5 лет назад

      No U can't ... cause it's just a generic model ... not an Information model ... u can though use navisworks for quantification ... if u break down your max model by trades. and import it in navisworks ... as parts .

      hardly advise against it ... buuuuuut ... if u wanna ... import like an organic roof ... or such .... u can seamlessley import to revit ... using the method I mentioned ..... for design ... but if uwanna work in true BIM ... u'll need to do extra work to make the roof for example water tight in max and export it as a solids model .SAT ... into a massing family template in revit ... now u can even host roofs by face for construction drawings ... cheers.

    this cursed mesh from revit is crap, I try to import obj and it doesn't enable the faces to align the block, autodesk just needed to solve this problem of the geometries that would be top.

    Hey, Loved this video! I'm trying to do things just as you did in this video! But i keep getting an error on Revit saying
    "Revit cannot import some of the geometry.
    This result can be caused by various issues with the source file. Adjust the geometry in the file and try the import process again."
    This is happening when I am trying to insert the CAD file to revit.
    Have you ever had this problem?

      Eduardo Balbino I’ve had better luck saving as a DWG and importing into an RFA and add the materials through the manage tab-object setting- import and add the materials there
