- BMW Invited me to drive the NEW 2019 BMW Z4 M40i. The New z4 M40i was handed to myself, Rory Reid and Paul Wallace to drive at the UK press launch in Spain. BMW's new Z4 roadster sounds great in the form of the m40i. Its acceleration is quick, exhaust sounds are good and as an overall package its a great bit of kit!

Liked the car so much I test drove it and bought the M40i version.
It’s a fast and composed ride with all the tech toys and great looks.
Apparently I got the last one being built this year so that Toyota Supra can be churned out.

If u dont get the whole roadster theme, don't appreciate having the top down as often as you can, RWD with perfect balance and think a 2 seater car should be cheaper than a 4 seater car then ul never understand the purpose of the Z4. Iv owned 3 z4s now and love them. U want a 25k new roadster don't look at this. Get the mx5.

Great video! I own a 2008 Z4 3.0si and I hope the new car has a bit more of the rawness that it has. The last generation never really appealed on that front.

There's no way that's 4.6 seconds to 60. BMW almost always downplays both power and 0-60 times.

And to think the non euro version of that car will have about 40 more hp since non euro market versions don't have the particulate filter. So basically this car is good for about 380hp or so in the US etc

The term ‚hairdressers car‘ really annoys me. Not everyone needs their car to be super fast or can afford a 911 turbo. I always thought the Z4 is an amazing car, I‘ve owned the 1st gen and loved every day of it. And with all the douchey wraps and bad sounding super loud exhausts that come out from youtubers it’s really hypocritical to judge someone who buys a certain type of car as a show off as well as insulting to its engineering teams. Blindly following what Clarkson once said about certain cars to relate to your audience. I truly wish presenters would avoid the temptation of reusing jokes and share with us the driving experience. Thanks for the video!

go on car sales base website stop watching and relying on youtube. Sports car sales are extremely low, roadsters lower. So collaboration is going to be more common. No ones buying. Also this wont be 50k for long gauranteed.....

Interior looks like a 3-series. Prevous Z4 had its own interior, making it something a bit more special compared to the other BMW's of that era imo. This one is a little dull and overly aggressive.

It isn't as fun to drive as Z4 SDrive23i (naturally aspirated 6 cylinders engine). This video looks very genuine but it does not have to be (BMW just released the model and they expect high selling numbers). Book a test drive for both and you will understand that m40i is not as good. It does not sound better than sdrive23i. It is an uppsetting fact. If you are looking for a sport car better than both but at similar price, go for Porsche Cayman with 6 cylinders engine (not the latest one).
