It's not just the optimistic science stories in this channel, it's the excitement in the host' face that makes it interesting.
She is presenting current hypothesis as fact. Dark matter is a hypothetical solution to our current understanding of cosmological gravity.
@@kayakMike1000so it’s a theory of how it works, meaning it’s the best explanation we have and so of course it’s going to be presented like that, it’s the closest to fact we have at the moment
@@kayakMike1000Technically everything is a hypothetical solution until a theory of everything is discovered (which it probably never will because of the impossibility to see past the singularity at the beginning of time). Stop being pedantic, or you’ll just summon a bigger one to correct you. You aren’t being helpful to the discourse or even a good pedant.
I've seen a scientist on some Documentary recently, I wish I could remember the exact one, but he said that the theory of everything will likely never be a short easy buttoned up complete equation like E=MC² because he said they're starting to fully realize there's a distinct probability that the laws of Physics realistically likely fluctuate and are not the same everywhere. Other star systems could and probably do have all sorts of variables that could be completely different from place to place, and if we try to have one rule to blanket everything it wouldn't work.
I'm probably messing up exactly how it was explained but that was the gist of it.
@@jeffsales6836while I think that's possible, a theory of everything would explain and predict the variables that are changing as well as why they're changing and what impacts can change them.
It's possible that gravity is locally weak in our surroundings and stronger elsewhere, but there should be some reason why that is.
Euclid will report back - "42"
Right. Could've saved them the bother
If it requests a human brain dont send it one
Or, in a massive plot twist...
42.00000003141592... etc.
I heard the dolphins plan on leaving after this..
Wot?
Love the Hitchhikers Guide reference
i came to comment : We already got the answer... we need the question

@@dugupinya"What do you get if you multiply six by nine?"
@@acciaacilius687554?
@@dugupinyathe question is "what is the answer to life the universe and everything?" The answer "42" is a computer coding reference. The * is the 42nd symbol in a certain coding system, and the * is a wild card and can mean anything you want it to. The computer is saying the meaning to life is whatever you want it to be.
That is such a cool mission. I hope this answers a lot of unanswered questions!
Read bhadvad gita and vedas
the answer is 42
@@nicholasjoseph9062 Gosh darn, I came here to say this! Have my up vote instead!
@@tirumala224the telescope was just launched in july ... Give it a bit of time to get the data will you.

It would be so funny if the answer actually did involve the number 42 in some manner or exponent.
I already know the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. It's 42.
don't forget your towel :)

Is the woman in the end quoting hitchhiker’s guide through the galaxy 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Every short heals my brain cells and gives me hope in humanity, thanks
She just quoted Douglas Adams!
42!!! Love it! 🥰
I already know it's 42 but it's always good to verify
Oh, does she mean 42?
Can’t wait for the exciting results we’ll be receiving throughout the course of this project!
Holy shit that is gonna be an impressive perspective we’ve never been able to get before🤯

I think the next great filter of civilization is how long an civilization endures until it mets another civilization in space
This implys that there’s a great civilization that is aware of other life or coordinates of it, or Earth is the only civilization who has started to reach this filter, OR there are at least two other civilizations who are aware of each others existence and perhaps they think that’s it, there is no one else
I don't think you realize how fragile a civilization as a concept is. One asteroid, one dramtic enough climate change event, one viral / bacterial outbreak, one strong enough solar flare that hits, one gamma ray burst pointed at the planet, one genetic mutation that makes the species infertile and a million other things and say bye bye to civilization. The 'great filter' is civs don't last for long enough to find each other out there or to even develop the tech needed to cross and survive the vast distances that stand between them. Even if they reach that point, the dangers of space travel are so great that they likely wouldn't get far even if they did set out for such a voyage.
but how is that a filter?
@@itzflaymegd8018 how long can a civilization last until it meets a civilization equal or more advanced than itself. On the premise that civilization that can travel and colonized space is rare meaning in that sort of expansion and no contact of other advance species or intelligent life. Can that civilization survive without collapsing from itself or regressing due to economic, socio political or even biological factors? With that said isn’t another form of evolution or as we call it a “filter” for which future civilization will discover these remnants or backward civilizations without connecting with them.
So dark forest theory?

Thats the answer to life, the universe and everything
Very cool.
Appreciate bringing these stories to us
We have Natalie Portman at home:
I don’t get it. She looks nothing like Natalie Portman.
@Conqueror25 probably meant to say Jane Foster
but we already know… 42
It you were my teacher, I would've attended school everyday 💀😂
We already know the answer to life, the universe and everything. It's 42.
Supercomputers already calculated that. The answer is 42.
Supercomputer* it was the most powerful computer in the fourth dimension, and the second most powerful to exist
First james webb and now this im so excited for the future
Yes, this looks like a double effort for the same thing, to observe distant stuff.
I wouldn't say that we "know" dark matter & energy are there, but that they're hypothesized to be there to explain some mysteries
We already know the answer to life the universe and everything it’s 42
Just AMAZING 🤩!!
Love your channel Cleo !
James Webb TS be like: „hold my beer“
So glad Euclid has come on line,I’ve been blown away by webs discoveries and can’t wait to see what Euclid comes up with
Just to clarify the Euclid space mission was developed by Esa, and was supposed to go up on the Ariane 5 I believe. But it was launched by SpaceX. That said, Esa may have then there at the launch site in the control Center in cape Canaveral though. Maybe they're the ones that push the button at space x?
Yeah but it doesn't change the fact that it is a esa mission
It was to go up on a Russian Soyuz launcher but, erm, war stopped that. SpaceX launching it has nothing to do with the mission other than delivery to Langrange point L2 (same as James Webb.).
Come on guys we know the answer to the great question is 42. We must need to figure out the question. Let's build a galaxy size computer for that one
Planet sized should be big enough.
its exactly your curiosity that gets fed and your phantasy that grows. these two are real.
Should do a video on 3D printed food, it's cool for the environment and stuff 👍
Maybe, but my biggest fears are that it comes at a cost of nutritional value. Like real meat is more than just protein. It’s also loaded with different minerals, biochemicals, and some vitamins that no genetically engineered “meat” can provide. Plus, farming and ranching is not the primary source of greenhouse gases. Statistically, it’s heating and electric production, manufacturing processes, then car traffic, as the largest contributors to greenhouse gases, so perhaps we should focus more on making manufacturing cleaner.
@@spacelinxThank you for addresing my concerns.
@@spacelinx"that no genetically engineered meat can provide"
Who told you that? It's wrong.
@@spacelinx not sure where you got the idea that we can’t artificially match or outmatch natural meats, I bet someone already has. Making it on an industrial scale affordably might be a different matter, I don’t know, but I don’t see any obstacles in the way of artificial products being better than natural ones nutritionally. Just targeting the very biggest contributors isn’t enough, instead of removing all cars from all roads we can remove a lot of cars, and make up for the ones left by cutting emissions in other areas, for example. The more we cut the better. Do the stats on agricultural emissions include the massive biodiversity losses due to rampant land clearing?
Amazing
Space exploration news is always so exciting!
I could listen to this beautiful woman talk about science alllllll day. Her enthusiasm towards optimistic tech gets be hyped up about it.
the fact that the universe is infinitely large and infinitely small hits me hard and it gave me a moment to pause and think of other stuff like what should i eat tomorrow? 😅
I the answe to the life universe and everything was 42
Correction: Euclid was **built** by the ESA and **launched** by a SpaceX Falcon 9.
SpaceX supplied a rocket but that’s literally the least interesting thing about this.
Still waiting for one of these telescopes to be named "42" in hopes to answer the big questions.
42 is "the answer of life, the universe, and everything." We've know that since 1985, and was first postulated in 1978.
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference was class!
i really wanted a channel that teches so that i don't waste time in useless shorts so thank you for teaching!!
The lady at the end is quoting the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy ❤️

6 years later the scientists check the report and see one number: “42”
I’m obsessed with your channel! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge
Oh, I don't think they're going to be happy with the answer. . .
Thanks for this! I'm a Euclid Consortium scientist and we're working hard to get cool insights from the data.
Double check my math, but that's ~7.927 galaxies charted every second for 6 years straight
Yep, I was wondering about that too

Wait, the entire Euclid telescope physically moves while it scans the sky up and down? You'd think that a much smaller part of the telescope would do the panning. Moving like that would require some form of thrust, correct? The craft could only store a limited amount of propellant. Am I missing something here?
Love when they quote THGTG...
