2 thermistors? Are these machines that complex compared to the basic old big basic copier fusers? On the bottom center, I saw what looks like thermal fuses, a thermistor detects temperature and tells the controller to turn the lamp or heat on and off, the fuse blows if the temperature goes higher than the fuse rating, based on my old experience, fuses and heat lamps blow more often than thermistors.
Yes,It has 2 thermal fuses and 2 thermistors. The thermal fuses are really just a switch which gets triggered by over heating a concave plate on the top of it. and yes the generally blow before the lamps in my experience. All because a bad thermistor.

My understanding of this tells me that the thermal fuses actually is tiny circuit breakers that gets triggered by bimetallic springs when reaching a specific temperature. Btw I just got myself a MP C2000 for free which had a known problem with the fuser unit. A complete fuser unit costs me more than i'm willing to use on this old copier so i opted for trying to fix it myself. On my maschine the contacts in one of the thermal fuses was stuck open. A gentle whack against the workbench fixed this. I would be surprised if this is a common problem on this brand copier

i have ricoh MP 5002 Photocopier machine SC552 error occur after that it shows 652 error we trying that codes (reset + 107 + clear) but it is not working now it not working when i closed the cover it turn off when i open the cover it will open..... please help me in this problem to solve...
+Hyan Welligton In the fuser the thermistor for the pressure roller needs to be replaced MOST likely. You can go into service mode SP5-810 and reset. If you are not familiar with entering the SP mode let me know and I will make a video on how to enter!

Hey Hadley if I have the cold SC543 which thermistor would be blown? The easy one to get to or the underneath the roller.

Low temperature in fuser. Blown fuser lamp or bad fusing thermistor.
@@kayaahmed2928 I'm assuming it's an MP4500. I don't see an SC402 in a MP4500 but in some machines, an SC402 is Transfer roller shorting out.
