At Kaiyukan, said to be one of the world's largest aquariums, you can enjoy the real life of various sea creatures, especially popular creatures such as whale sharks, otters, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and penguins.
The museum's five floors, from the fourth to the eighth, are dedicated to recreating the natural environment of the Pacific Rim, with 14 tanks offering a variety of marine life from different regions.
Kaiyukan's most popular attraction is the large whale shark! The whale sharks are approximately 4 to 6 meters in size. Despite its large size, its main food is plankton, and it has a gentle personality. They are a cute creature with a gap between the two. They come close to the tank, so you can experience the power of whale sharks up close.
    Kaiyukan Hours of Operation
Kaiyukan's hours of operation vary depending on the season. The museum is generally open until 8:00 p.m., making it a great place to go on an evening aquarium date. The last admission time is one hour before closing time.
    Audio Guide
If you use an audio guide, you may be able to learn about unexpected aspects of the creatures you have been seeing. Kaiyukan's audio guide is equipped with an LCD and provides information on the museum's highlights in both voice and image, and is available in six languages (Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, French, and Thai), so it will come in handy when showing your friends from overseas around the aquarium.
