We taught our cats early on not to ask for food when we are eating. They have never tried to steal food from our plates but I was curious what happens when they find delicious chicken on the table.
How did you do that? We have two 11 year olds (not wegies) who are always in our faces. We don’t give them scraps, so we don’t know why they act like we never feed them! LOL
@@Ripplesinthewaters When they were kittens, they wanted to eat anything that's edible. They even loved the smell of oranges and vinegar :-D It took about 2 or 3 months when they finally understood the rules, stopped asking for food when we ate and stopped tasting or licking anything they found. It's also possible that they got less curious during those months which also helped us with the problem. Our rules: 1. They don't get human food at all, no chicken pieces from our lunch, etc. and they only eat from their own plates. 2. They eat before us, sometimes after but never at the same time. If they are hungry, I make sure to feed them before our dinner so they are satisfied when we have our meal. 3. They can't come close to our plates when we eat. They can be on the dining table but they need to be on the other side of the table or on the floor. We gently pushed them away when they tried to get close to our plates. 4. They don't get attention when we eat.
Beautiful cats! I had a Norwegian Forest Cat, purebred, a few years ago. Beautiful and sweet cat. I also have 2 purebred Maine coons. I love my babies. Best cats in the world. I know people say, "why would you get purebreds when there are so many cats". and I just reply that unless you've had one of these 2 types of cats, purebred, you wouldn't understand. These cats are smarter than any dog I've ever had. I've had my share of domestic cats through the years and loved them just as much, but my weegy and my Maine coons were unbelievable.
_"Stinky rings!!"_ Hillarious! I loved the captioning and absolutely believe everything they said in their heads! Poor Roy tried so very hard, but temptation was strong! I can't believe the silverware stayed on the table! I also can't believe such large cats are so [ _edit:_ -dainty- _gentle_ ] and so willing to share their food.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. When I saw the footage first I couldn't stop laughing, they are so gentle and well-behaved boys. It was so much fun to make.
@@RoyandMoss Moss coaxed Roy into it: "If you keep your mouth shut about this to Mom and Dad, I'll let you share the plate. At least if we lick the chicken portion clean, it'll look like it simply faded into thin air. No one need ever know! Just be sure to keep a lookout every now and then."
CAT: Daintily poke around for ten minutes finally eating the chicken. Wasting some of it on the floor. DOG: SCHLOOPH! Plate empty in three seconds, none wasted!
Just normal cats. Chicken is mighty tempting. If they could they probably would leave a plate of dessert for us to see what we would do. How could you resist those gorgeous boys.❤
@@RoyandMoss Careful there, mom to Roy and Moss. They may bring you a mouse for desert! Mine did within the first week of adopting them. They saw me get rid of the two mice outdoors (one mouse for each cat) and they never brought me another one. Makes me wonder... I think they wanted me to eat their hunting treasures.
The revolting vegetables were unscathed. This was very funny with the captions I think you should do more of what the cats are thinking on each of the videos because that makes it really funny. Roy was a very good boy until Moss let him astray. .😅😅😂❤ I would like to see what happens if you put out a plate of tuna and put revolting vegetables over top. Moss kept thinking about using the fork like a gentleman but since he didn't have thumbs he couldn't do so.😊😊
Hahaha this was so entertaining! Great video and commentary by the cats! The tomato and cucumber deterred them until they could not take it anymore, I love it. I love how they try to use their paws. So great! They look beautiful.

I have a truce of-sorts with my furry horde. Once I'm finished they can lick the plate for sauce and bits once I've placed the plate aside on the side-table. Until then the plate is mine....though they do get tempted.
My cat would have panicked after sniffting the tomato. She hates anything with vitamin C, I think the acid hurts her nose (oranges or lemons being cut or peeled within 5 feet of her will send her fleeing)
Yes, probably it was the acid what irritated her. Our cats hate vegetables (except pumpkin, carrot and a few leafy plants) but they have no problems with sniffing. What Moss really detests is black tea. If he sees the package he narrows his eyes and he goes to the other direction.
@@RoyandMoss Now that's funny - even if Moss doesn't agree with me! I'll bet his reaction would be completely different to a "tea" brewed from Chicken Broth!
I laugh at the way they both just totally ignore the "stinky rings" and "nasty red stuff" but guiltily sniff and taste the delectable chicken, as if they are unsure whether to eat it or not! I'll admit myself I eat all the chicken first and leave the stinky rings and nasty red/green stuff till last lol.
Glad you enjoyed the video 😊 I know my cats but I had no idea how would they react. When I watched the footage first I couldn't stop laughing. They are so gentle and polite ❤ They hate vegetables...there are only 3 exceptions: cat grass and a few other leafy plants, carrot and pumpkin.
@@RoyandMoss Your cats don't mind mind carrot and pumpkin?! How interesting! I think my sister's -- a Maine Coon who looked similar to your adorable boys -- was possibly curious about watermelon.
