I actually feel it's a sign of respect that they calm down and entertain your friends. It saves you any sort of embarrassment especially when your matter comes up later on. Parents who "show their true colour" to their children's friends need to get themselves checked sha. Just play along. When the friend leaves, drop your two cents. Finish.
My dad will even make jingle with their names and make then laugh so hard. I enjoy seeing trying to entertain my guests, it's one of the ways he tell us he loves us without saying it directly 😊🥰
It's how he responded "you too" to the question "How are you doing?" I was thinking I was the only one who experienced this among elders. This video is so on point!😂😂😂😂😂
They said we should be giving flowers to people when they are alive.... Maraji I'm giving you your flowers now baby.... You are good💯💕❤️..... Make I come go give Zicsaloma and twyse their own ehenn and Taoma
This just drew me back to those days😂 it was always very awkward..and the unnecessary information is what always crack me up ..100%legit I laughed so hard😂
I’m even confused whether I wrote this! . Your comment made me cry. I went through the same thing with my sister. Though I’m independent now I never knew I could one day chat with her .
The constant, "No it's alright." is so relatable. 😂 Also the giving the friend food that you were forbidden or are limited to eat. I take advantage. Then there are people like my friends who have heard me say how strict my family are that they fear visiting.
My mum would be the one to do this.😂 Then after indulging my friend with all of those things and the friend leaves, she will start nagging over the kind of friends I keep - friends that watch TV and see movies. Something like: "so this how you and your friends watch movies in school ehn? I doubt if you all ever create time to read." Even though she knows I always end up with nice grades and I'm quite bookish.😂 I dreaded bringing friends home then, even though I've never been an extrovert with many friends. Now my mum can almost cry over the fact that I may not get a single phone call in four days and I do not talk about many friends, not to talk of inviting them home.😂
They create our future lives and are later surprised into what it turns out. I don't know if they think when you're done with school then you'll just develop special friendship attraction powers😅
Omg. This is so APT. The way they will offer to those friends things they never let you have. All of a sudden, your mean parent becomes the sweetest host ever. 🙄🙄 African parenting is truly the ghetto. I have PTSD!! 😔😔😔
I remember years back. My Dad legit asked a Church member who came to visit me if they didn't have work that they would be visiting at that time of the day. My course mates nko them hear am 😆😆😆
0:43 why are the dads always deaf, like I always have to repeat myself over and over again for him to hear and then proceed to shout at me for whatever reason 😂
I can relate, even some African mothers do it too 😀😀. They are suddenly very nice when your friends are around and some don't want to see you with friends at all. It's amazing the way our parents behave sometimes😂.
This is my mum…you are even lucky they didn’t shout at you in front of your friend. My mum will intentionally shout at me over a little offense to show my friends that “we are well trained and not allowed to do rubbish” very embarrassing😭😭😭😭
Me I always got on with the news watching dads because me sef like news that time. ( not anymore, too much misery in the news these days, it’s depressing) my friend would end up being because their dad won’t want to stop gisting about the latest news and would be asking my opinion about state of affairs. One friend always encouraged me to come over because that time was when she could also sit with her dad and join in the conversation. He was so strict, his own children didn’t feel comfortable enough to chat with him by themselves. I thank God for my dad, there was nothing we couldn’t and didn’t talk about and I loved listening to his stories about his growing up. I miss him so much. Rest in peace Goddy.
