    Love this Lauren! We are very much a ‘YES’ to children attending and have the ideal set up at Little Steps Nanny and Events Agency for this reason!
    We keep the under 10’s/12’s entertained, busy and safe whilst the couple and guests know their little ones are all on site and they can pop back in to say hello whenever! This allows the parents to be ‘themselves’ too!

    I'm so glad for this video, particularly the cake and hair/make part I'm a home baker and was really wanting to make my own cake, mostly because I'm so fussy and rarely like cake from anywhere else 🙈😂 and the hair and makeup part, I really feel uncomfortable with other people doing my hair and makeup so I think I'll definitely do them myself but not the cake ☺️ I have time to find a baker as my wedding is next year xx

    Celebrants are legal in Scotland. We are having one for our wedding at the Brig O'Doon in Alloway. Its right next to the bridge mentioned in Tam O Shanter poem.
    Totally agree with the bit about food.

    Thank you for this video, I found it really useful :) one of the topics that's been in great discussion for our wedding is are we having a DJ/Live Band/Cèilidh/DIY - I'm not sure my fiance realises how much work goes into music! He personally isn't a dancer/music so doesn't see the big deal!

      Hello Helen, a friend of mine went to a wedding last year with a Ceilidh and she said it was the most amazing thing ever and so much fun... She's thinking of that for hers when she ties the knot! Xx

    #2 point: our ceremony is at a church- no one is eating or drinking there… our ceremony is also at 430p so people should 100% be eating lunch before hand. Reception starts at 6 and there will be appetizers there, followed by dinner once bridal and groom party arrive.

    I think it’s a little different in Scotland, as we are having a personal ceremony at our venue that is also a legal ceremony.

      Yes a celebrant ceremony is legal in Scotland. Can’t wait for them to make the same law here in England 🤞🏻🤞🏻

    Thanks for the video. I struggle so much with the signing the paper work on a different day separately. Like that is the wedding. That’s when you get married the other part is just a party.

    I know a groom who made his own wedding cake. It was only 2 tiers on the day cos the 3rd tier slid off onto the back seat of his car on the way to his wedding! 😂😂

    Very useful video thank you.
    We will 100% be having kids (I'm from a big family, SO is from a big family too and we love kids). There will be lots of children under the age on ten there and we're thinking of how to entertain them all. Some are babies and some a bit older. Realistically oldest "child" is 12, will have just turned 13 by the time of the wedding. There with be a few teenagers there too (maybe lots of teens and tweens actually but don't know numbers yet). So yeah - with such a lot of young people there of varying ages, what would you recommend is the best thing to keep them entertained?
    Anyone's comments are welcome, I really want all the kids to enjoy our day too. And Lauren (I know you said you didn't have kids at your wedding but due to your job you must have some ideas) - please let me know what you're thinking in relation to this? Thank you

      Have you considered a wedding nanny agency? We’ve worked with some amazing ones. They come kitted up with all the activities for the kids to keep them entertained throughout the day and can cater from babies - age 12. 🙌🏻

      @@BluebirdBrideAcademy thank you, you know I'd never even thought of that - thought something like that would only be available in America tbh... That's great to know we can hire them over here. Do you recommend any particular ones? I'll have a quick look on Google - hope it will fit into our budget!

      Teens and tweens (and many adults too!) are obsessed with their phones more often than not so anything interactive that they can take pics of like a photo booth for lots of selfies or a photography scavenger hunt with a personalised hashtag and even disposable cameras just for the kids?

    • @WiggleIsWiggly
      @WiggleIsWiggly Год назад

      Oh and also a help yourself area where kids can get their own drinks without having to find a parent and maybe small snacks and fidget toys to play with (NOT SLIME) and some mats and floor cushions or beanbags and blankets so they can chill properly and not get all restless on a dining chair and can maybe even have a nap.
      They’re bound to get hyper from the food and drinks and the general happy buzz but then crash and get bored of dancing and chatting with grownups which can easily turn into an “I want to go home” tantrum.
      I think it’s important to have a private-ish area for kids to unwind a bit and do whatever they like so they don’t get totally over or under stimulated and freak out
      I know I’d have appreciated those things at weddings when I was a kid - I mean I still would and I’m deffo incorporating those things into my day for the adults as well as the kids 😂
      Trying to keep it inclusive for the introverts that avoid small talk and dancing but feel too rude to leave early (aka me and my fiancé at most weddings we’ve been to🙈)

  • @WiggleIsWiggly
    @WiggleIsWiggly Год назад

    Thankfully for us, there’s only 4 kids in our entire guest list so we’re not worried about having them there as there’s only a few so I doubt they’ll cause Too much trouble
    I think if there were more than 10 I’d feel a bit nervous about safety and boredom and parents getting too distracted and leaving early etc so I get why people don’t like having children there but at the same time, they’re your family or friends aren’t they!? I can’t imagine not having my besties babies there. I guess if there’s a big guest list of over 100 people then it becomes a problem if some people have big families of kids that they want to include.
    I can’t imagine having more than 60 guests in total regardless of age though because I’m not paying hundreds for entertaining acquaintances but that’s just me 😂 maybe I’m just not that popular but thank god because I deffo don’t have the budget for more than 40 in the day and 60 in the evening 🙈

    I think it should be up to the parents if they want to bring their kids along.
