Tawau is an area directly adjacent to Tarakan, Nunukan, Tanjung Selor and Sebatik Island in North Kalimantan, Indonesia.

@Your Travel Buddy Will yes those near border areas have some Indonesian influence. Even kota bahru has thai influence near the border with thailand
