it's cool, but you forgot to say about veeeeery hard school materials and system of education. i study in russian school like this one, and we have 8-9 lessons everyday, i'm coming home at 16.30 or 17.30 and then i must do my hometask, which is very hard and it is very much. i'm going sleep at 00.00 or later.
And we havent directions in school subjects. if you dont know mathematic or phisics, you must study it! i can't study russian, society, english and other subjects, which i need for my future job, because i'm trying to understand this f*cking phisics!!!!!
i have an internet friend from usa, he lives near houston, and he said that they have directions in school subjects and it is really easy to study subjects, which aren't in your direction. and they have short hometasks, he is becoming free at 8 o'clock

YarikS ytb I attended elementary, middle and high school in a Houston District. For elementary kids school starts at 7:00 am and they get out at 2:30 pm. For middle school it starts at 7:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm. High school starts at 7:50 am and ends at 3:00 pm.
In elementary (grades kkindergarten - 5th grade) we have the same teacher for math, science, geography, english. They explain every subject till we understand it. If the student needs extra help they will stay after school till 4 pm for tutorials. They give the students a packet of homework every monday and they have to turn it in by friday.
In middle school (grades 6 - 8) students have a different teacher for every subject. We change classes every 45-50 minutes. Only 5 minutes are given to go to the next class or go to the restroom before the next class. If you're late to class yoy will get lunch detention. which means you sit in a quiet area of the lunch room till lunch is over. if youre late to 3 classes in a single day then yoy will have after school detention. When you dont show up to after school detention you can get saturday detention or ISS (in school suspension). If you dont finish your class work it becomes homework.
High school is pretty much the same as muddle school. It just has ilder people and its from grades 9 - 12. Ever school has a different building and its not all in one like in the video.
Also we never have the same teacher for every grade. Apart from PE teachers.
If you have any questions message me.

I was in school back in the 1970's in the U.S. and I can say that the lunchroom ladies still look pretty much the same now as they did then. Those ladies were pretty tough, and as you stated they don't have much time to shoot the breeze. I bet the only difference in lunchroom ladies worldwide is the menu they serve. Anyway I enjoyed you giving us this view of the Russian school system. Thank you.

The school is above average since it a "lyceum" but not luxurious. Didnt see anything extraordinary except for great swimming pool and salt cave. No offence intended, by the way, to those who choose to learn US English, but for me it was very heartening to hear British English being taught in your old school; Moscow and London are both in Europe, after all :) Did you have to "switch codes" when you went to America?

    A fun and informative video.
If I may make a suggestion regarding camera work... You might wish to practice "panning" the camera, that is, moving the camera slowly from one object of interest to another. If the camera moves too quickly, the viewer can feel a bit disoriented, even dizzy. It makes it difficult to focus on what is being seen.
A rule of thumb is that when turning 90 degrees one should be able to count to 5.
Another thing that would be good would be to aim the camera slightly higher when showing a group of people. If one imagines the camera viewscreen as having three vertical and three horizontal lines, making nine squares, the object of interest -- the face, or the trophy, or the photo -- should be on the top line. If it is higher than this is the frame, it can be lost out of the top of the picture.
These are just some suggestions. In general, great photography, and wonderful documentation. I was amused that your geography teacher bragged about your geography scores. It shows that she takes pride in her work.

Nice video! But this one quite luxury school I think.
Btw now schools have a tendency to be consilidated, f.e. my son's school (in Moscow) has 9 separate building spread around the district. There are a swimming pool but it's in a separate building almost 800 meters from school itself.
Although sometimes (at least in Moscow) elementary / middle / high school students study in different building (up to 500 meters between this buildings). It's still the same school with the same principal but students amost never mixed up. Or only at the school's stadium maybe.

Either English or German is a choice. It is compulsory in all Russian educational schools. In some, you can still choose French. But basically, as a foreign language for learning choose English.

It seems like the Russian school system seems very similar to the German education system. The major differences would be that primary schools are separate schools and that we have three different types of secondary schools that you get send to after fourth grade based on your academic performance (yes this is quite a controversial practice but has been in place for more than a century).
Also the tuition at university is much lower in Germany, about 150-400 € per month depending on where you go.
Thanks for showing us around, very interesting!!!
