Hi team! 💜 Hope these Dutch door ideas were helpful and that you've got some inspiration for your next Dutch door setup 😄 All the tapes that I used in the setup are linked in the description box, but remember you can use code jashii10 to save 10% off if you wanna grab any 💪 we love savings! 🥳 bit.ly/TWTSxJC
When I first saw people doing dutch doors, I thought it was too sad to cut away at a journal. But these ideas are so beautifully executed to make the journal so much more functional. Looking through your RUclips videos, you MUST be the most prolific bujo expert out here. I can't wait to try these out for my next journal!
This is my favorite video ever! With each turn of the page I thought "Whaaaat?" and then, " I have to make that!" Love them all. thank you for all the beautiful (while very functional) ideas. :)
Very nice ideas, fellow wizard! 😄 I especially like how a Dutch door can reduce the number of times you have to draw an elaborate illustration and/or how many stickers you need to fill up empty spaces. Just go all out on one border and you're basically done.
Exactly 👏 which effectively means you need less stickers for the setup because those ones are “multi use” for the decoration across those Dutch door pages 😄💜 also, aww yiss, team wizard 💪
Phenomenal ideas Jess!! You are a WONDERFUL teacher! Thank you for being YOU and explaining techniques so clearly and with perfect timing!!...I love that you don't go too fast and still manage to show so many variations! Your editing amazes me! Do you have all your past bujos memorized by technique?!! :o)
Haha, thanks Deanna! I’ve got a pretty good idea of what I have in each of my old journals, but sometimes the years blend together, and I can’t really remember what I did in 2020 versus 2021 versus 2022 😂
@@JashiiCorrin Sounds like me :o)...I can spend so much time searching to find the right year! LOL I can only imagine how much time it takes you to do what you do. I truly appreciate & adore you!! You have taught me so much and I am forever grateful!
The most creative usage of Dutch Door I've ever seen! So beautiful and easy to make myself. I personally will make sure to use at least 3 of them, so much I like them and think that they would be perfect for my plans. Thank you~~
Some of those layouts I think I will try out! Although could you do like a test at some point and put some of those PET washi tapes on a black out journal? My main is a blackout and I find I'm wayy more productive with it and love the easy decoration these would give, but most of the transparent stickery types I have put in just vanish on the page
I love every single one of your Dutch door ideas. I saved this video so I can refer back to it for inspirations, which I’m sure I will do pretty often. Thank you for sharing your creativity and passion and talent with us through your videos!
#heckyeah #teamwizard Very sneaky wizard hiding there Jess. The flower washi is so pretty and I love the fact they are on the clear tape so you they blend with the page.
Perfect timing :O I came on YT just now to get some inspo for dutch door layouts... and you uploaded this at the same time! 5:23 is my favourite idea. So creative!
#Heckyeah #teamwizard! Thank you so much for this, it came at the perfect time. I've used the dutch door you did with the blue spread and put my habits and monthly reading stats page on the back and my monthly calendar on the front.
You’d probably have to use a paint pen on the PET tape for it to stay, which is why I cut out around each of the designs fairly close normally so that non of the clear backing would obstruct my writing and other pen work 😄💜 I’ll also normally put down any background lines of colour before sticking the tapes over top. As these were just examples though, I was a little more relaxed with the cutting out, so left more clear stuff that I normally would 😊 For the tip-in at the end, while I attached that with regular sticky tape, I’d normally be a bit more mindful about how I stuck that in to maximise writing space 😂
I’m wondering, how do you choose between cutting out to create a mini book Dutch door set up or tip-in? Either way it impacts the way the books close. I love how they look individually but struggle with the thickness variability (same struggle with stickers … 😂). I do love the folded Dutch door as a result.
When you cut down a page, there is at least no additional bulk from whatever you'd need to stick a tip-in down 😋 If I were doing the mini-book type option, I'd likely opt to cut down the page, OR if it were a perfect page half or a lil smaller, I might alternate cutting and tip-in (what a nice way to use those cut offs, haha). Also kinda depends on what I can be bothered with at the time; doing tip-ins can be a little more fiddly 😅

By far the most creative Dutch door video I've personally seen! Great, functional ideas, great work! 👏🤗
Thanks! 😄💜 Wanted to try and highlight some of the less-than-typical ways they can be used 💪
@nelesnotes is a great content creator herself. Check out her stuff!
Love the tape reminds me of I can buy myself flowers❤
Oh nice 😄 I haven't actually listened to that song the full way through 🤔💜

Idea 6 is brilliant! I mean they all are but 6 reminded me to hit the like! ☺️
I love the dutch door on the yellow sunflowers page for weekly repeated tasks. That is a great idea I am going to have to try.
Nice! 😄💜 glad that one stood out as a winner 💪

I was looking at those PET tapes on the washi tape shop yesterday. Sooo beautiful.
They’re so damn gorgeous 🥰
This is awesome! Thank you.

If you could see my face while seeing some of these 😄 I love these ideas! Thank you for sharing!
Haha most welcome 😄💜 Glad you liked them!

thank you for all the ideas! I've only ever done one kind of dutch door and I'm willing to try some of those
Most welcome and glad it could give you some ideas 😄💜
7:11 I really love this one. It is so versatile! ❤

So many ideas to try. I tend to always stick to the vertical Dutch door but will give your ideas a go. Thanks Jess.
Most welcome and glad the video gave you some ideas, Jill 😄💜
This is so beautiful, it makes me want to copy this but I know for sure that the result would never be the same as yours 😁😅
#team wizard - I think that was my favorite 🪄
Heck yeah 💪 team wizarddd 😈
#heckyeah #teamwizard Very sneaky wizard hiding there Jess. The flower washi is so pretty and I love the fact they are on the clear tape so you they blend with the page.
Hehe much sneakier this time! 😝 and I agree; love how the PET blends so well with the pages 😄💜

Oh yay! Glad it was timely for you! 😄💜
10:02 the heck, that's a smart idea! I never notice there's something hidden
Haha glad it worked! 😄💪 Especially if you make the edge blend in well with the page, it's very "nothing to see here" 💜
#Heckyeah #teamwizard! Thank you so much for this, it came at the perfect time. I've used the dutch door you did with the blue spread and put my habits and monthly reading stats page on the back and my monthly calendar on the front.
Aww yiss, wizard! 💪💜 Glad the ideas could be useful 😄
Haha...i cheated and read it after the fact. #teamwizard 💜Excellent video as always, Jess. The first spread is SO pretty!!
Thanks Kimberly! Heck yeah, wizard team! 🥳💜
I’m not a big fan of Dutch doors but these are very creative. Question about that washi from the WTS. What kind of pen will write on that shiny tape?
You’d probably have to use a paint pen on the PET tape for it to stay, which is why I cut out around each of the designs fairly close normally so that non of the clear backing would obstruct my writing and other pen work 😄💜 I’ll also normally put down any background lines of colour before sticking the tapes over top. @@JashiiCorrin thanks! Those tapes are so pretty.
#teamwizard hehe a sneaky wizard this time. Maybe I'll get semi-brave and try a dutch door
I was pretty sneaky with it, yeah 😝💜 I fully recommend trying out Dutch doors! Really expands the layout possibilities 😄
I’m wondering, how do you choose between cutting out to create a mini book Dutch door set up or tip-in? Either way it impacts the way the books close. I love how they look individually but struggle with the thickness variability (same struggle with stickers … 😂).

Also kinda depends on what I can be bothered with at the time; doing tip-ins can be a little more fiddly 😅
What gold marker or pen did you use for the outlines and “moods” and “habits” text?
How long did it take to decorate and add the Dutch doors to this notebook? Was it days or hours?
I made all of the layouts over a span of about 6 hours 😄 but I wasn’t trying to be particularly fast with it, haha 💜
I’m a secret wizard!
Aww yiss! 🥳 I was sneakier with this one so I was wondering who would notice 😄💜
Ok, that's it! I can't stand my cheap icky amazon found washi tape a second more! **runs to washi tape shop with credit card in hand**
