    Omg, I love the tip-in Dutch door. You could also cut the tip-in in half and put a header on the page. It's like having 2 pages worth of info on a single page. Genius.

    I wouldn’t necessary call me a bullet journalist - as much as a type A planner! I couldn’t find a planner the way I wanted so I started my own this year. I just wanted to say you inspired me sooo much! I adore your channel and have definitely used some of your ideas.
    I wish I was artistic like you! Now I want to use Dutch doors! I haven’t yet because 1) I just started and 2 my month already takes so many pages, I don’t know how many journals I would go through in a year if I used Dutch doors for my weeklies! I have to think about a way to use them in my annual spreads when I start a new journal!

    Have you ever thought of doing a flip top Dutch door? You take the top of the page and glue it to the top. You can do this in the middle or corner. You score or bend the top of the page so the top flips up without bending your whole page. A flip top Dutch door is good for taking notes r writing ideas or thought down about the page under it. Without having to take up a whole nother page. Or a calendar, monthly or weekly to do list, or index at a glance as well. Or just notes in general.

    I've been using vertical Dutch doors since August, with a larger door?flap that acts as both bookmark and extra information space. I fit 7 1.5 inch vertical's on two pages with space for a notes & doodles column. For October I'm going to test the horizontal with a weekly info - calendar on the top and daily doors on the lower half of the page.
    Currently working out which style will benefit my visual processing style for information that I need to keep track of. Bonus exploring different styles is fun.
    Ps, I glue down my doors.

    I, love, your, Dutch door, layouts. I, have been, bullet journaling, since, January and I’m addicted. I’ve, watched, hundreds of videos and have done 3, Dutch doors, already. I, have, an old diary and use that, to do , a practice, run. I, used, to do, altered books, where, I, did, do, Dutch door, layouts, but, didn’t know, that’s, what, they, were called. My, creative juices, are, going into, overdrive.

    I’ve found if you leave a one square on the horizontal Dutch door cutout then stick it down. It can help you feel safer that the pages aren’t going to fall out.

    I really liked that first vertical layout. I might need to make it on my spare notebook to remember it. I'm not big on planning these myself, but I really loved these ideas. It also made me realise I use the tip-in dutch door in my planner a few times for packing lists and extra to-do's and every month for "anxiety notes" of payments due and bills.

    I love the color yellow that you use in this spread, it's cheery and vibrant without being so bright and overbearing like yellow sometimes is. I did a dutch door tab system for my yearly trackers at the beginning of my bullet journal and I love how they look. I don't need so much space in my weeklies so I've only done dutch doors as a whole monthly set up and I like to put my to do list in the section that's visible no matter which pages are flipped so that I can see it every day.

    I bullet journal in a Hobonichi planner, so I can’t just cut away part of a page, but I used Dutch doors several times when I was using a notebook. I’ve not had much success with them though - maybe I burnt myself out in creating them and lost motivation after that? If I was going to try again though, definitely vertical!

    Dutch doors always look so extremely great and cool and they're useful and even simple ones like these (i.e. with no more complicated shapes cut out and decorations) add a very interesting element, but it always seems to me as such a waste of paper to just cut part of the page off lol. I know you can always use the remains, either in a layout like you did here, or just to save them for possible corrections in the journal or just to take notes on them or whatever, BUT STILL! :D. So no, I don't think I would ever use them lol. (also I don't think I would find any use for them except of adding decorative element so...)

    What a fun video! Love all the ideas. I haven’t used Dutch doors before because I use dailies instead of weeklies, but I cut the pages of my bujo for the first time as part of my yearly setup. Oh the anxiety, but happily I love it! Quick question-love the handled sponge thing you use with the stencil to ink the hexagonal design. Where did you find it?

  • @ButterFlYnez
    @ButterFlYnez 3 года назад

    I found that if I don't use a Dutch door in my weekly/daily-hybrid I inevitably run out of space or at least fear this, leading me to not use my bujo at all. So I always do Dutch door spreads. I have used all of these but found that horizontal only works if its less than 2 pages. If it's more I get annoyed at the frayed paper or lose pages of my journal.

  • @VanK782

    I personally couldn't care less about cutting my journal, but I strive to optimise space and cutting off a piece of the page makes me have less of it, so I end up never doing it

  • @alishalevett2530

    I've never cut a Dutch door and I am not sure that I really want to. I fear that their will be a bump in my journal and make other full pages harder to write on/draw on. But if someone who uses Dutch doors can tell me if this is a real problem or not that would be handy and maybe I'll give one a go sometime in my current journal.

    • @JashiiCorrin
      @JashiiCorrin  3 года назад

      There certainly is a little of that, but for this series of Dutch doors, as the cut section isn't in the same place each time, it's not as much of an issue. When you have multiple subsequent Dutch doors that are all in the same place, that makes the ridge quite noticeable 😅💜 In those cases I'll sometimes try and slip something underneath the page I'm working on to give me a flatter surface
