Djokovic’s domination at the AO is completely comparable to Nadal’s at RG not just based on numbers but also from the perspective that there are more players on the tour who consider hard courts as theor best surface.

About the 0/15 break points converted in the first 2 sets, Kyrgios gave some really good analysis in his commentary: Novak was hitting big on deuce to create all those BPs and then playing safe on ad waiting for Taylor to miss. Taylor simply didn’t miss any because, as he said during his presser, at one point he just felt that Novak deserved a break already and he had nothing to lose. Sinner has not really been tested yet, Khacha & Rublev are some of the weakest top 10ers I've seen.
Something that stuck out though is that sinner faced I believe 19 bp's and only got broken once in his last 2 matches. Idk if he can keep this streak going.
Otherwise lacks variety imo & Novak will formulate a plan that will exploit his weaknesses and his legs of a chicken who is a master at taking out legs. Idk how Sinner will do in the endurance department, some question marks still.
Also the more you face Novak and more he knows you, he will have a better pulse on the match. And if the match is night, Novak just has such a winning streak in that session so let's see.
If he somehow gets past Novak I do not see him being 2 ATG's back to back or someone like Medvedev who is a HC specialist. Because historically it does not happen, rarely even in Big 3 era, have playeres defeated 2 big 3's to win. Federer could not even do it. Also this would be Sinners first slam final and I think the moment will get to him.

They will both play perfect tennis as long as they feel 100%. Djokovic wants it so badly to prove his superiority and to beat all the records he has on his list. And what Djoko wants, Djoko gets. Sinner will do his best, and if he is defeated, he will learn from it, and do better next time he plays him as he gets to see and experience the great master's box of tricks.

I also think it's Jannik's time. If Djoker cannot pull off another gear, Jannik will win. Jannik has experienced losses against Nole in different ways and has learnt a lot. Also, he has experienced wins against Nole and know his weakness. Right now, every player who plays against Jannik will choose to play aggressively to avoid his domination of points, and the winner will be the one who can stay aggressive and precision for longer time period and at the important moments of the match. Novak took this risk in the Final in Turin and won the match but a risk is a risk. If Sinner can also plays aggressive and plays better, Novak will lose like the one in the Davis cup. This will be an interesting match. Novak has all the stats in the history of this tournament to favor him but the eye test doesn't show he is the better player at this moment.

As someone as observing and knowledgable as you guys, not to identify any skill differences between Djokovic and Sinner is dissapointing. How about Djokovic having more versatile, stable, deep, and consistent ground strokes. Overall, Djokovic’s defense is on a whole another level than Sinner. Also, we’ve seen that he can match (and surpass) Sinner’s power (in terms of mph). Also, imo, Djokovic has a slightly better (hits spots better) than Sinner and a more consistent and deep return. He also has a better backhand dropshot and does better in cat and mouse games. I’m not a big fan of these ‘Djokovic is almost equal in terms of skill with a lot of other top guys, he just wins because he’s better mentally’ takes. I mean come on.

As Gill says, I am having trouble reading how this SF will play out. Maybe it comes down to nerve management, because Sinner has upped his game to have no glaring weakness like Novak. Also, not sure Novak can "copy and paste" his Turin Final 23 win against Sinner with the nuclear FH, because this is a considerably slower court and harder for Novak to overpower Jannik. Gill, I think you hype too much on Alcaraz. At the moment, Carlos is in the period of adjusting himself because his style is figured out by top players such as Djokovic, Sinner, Medvedev, and Zverev. His drop shot is no longer a deadly weapon as it used to be. His creative playstyle makes his decision making sometimes not reliable. The game plan of the others in the top 4 is much more reliable. Right now, I think Carlos is only on par with Djokovic on clay. He is very much beatable when facing top players with good serves in other surfaces. It takes time for him to growth. Right now, with the Djoker is still the best, Alcaraz is still one or two tier below. Without improvements, he will be the underdog when playing against the four players I mention above. Right now, in terms of tier, I think Djoker is the absolute tier 1, Jannick is tier 2 despite all the things he hasn't done in the Grand Slams (the eye test has shown quite enough), Meddy, Zverev, and Alcaraz is in the third tier.

And if you go back and watch that match, they screwed his rhythm in the 2nd set tie break by calling a time violation. If not for that, I'm sure he would've won the second set as well. He deserved the time violation 100% and should've got it much earlier but they chose that moment.

Two hardest single-match accomplishments in tennis: 1) Beating Nadal in the final of the French Open (0-14); and 2) Beating Djokovic in the final or semi-final of the Australian Open (0-20). This may be the last year for 1) to ever happen - hopefully Djokovic will get the chance, but we would need a lot of help from both the Nadal injury gods, then the seeding gods, and finally the Nadal in good form gods. I do think 2) will eventualy happen - is this the year?
The one way 2) would never happen (and now I'm fantasizing) is Joker sweeps the Golden Slam and Turin this year, then retires, with the quote: "I really need to move on to the next phase of my life, where, hopefully, I'll be able to find some challenges."

If he wants to break Connors' record for most matches, that's probably going to take this year and three more years to achieve. Since he turns 40 in May of 2027, he would have 3 chances to win a slam at the age of 40, which would be a great cherry on top of a fantastic career. So, if I HAD to bet, I'd say he'll retire then. How many slams to you estimate he'll win? My prediction is 30.
Of course, I have no visibility into his mind. The biggest factor is what does HE want to do. He does get to pick and choose his schedule, which is somewhat of an advantage over his younger rivals, plus he still seems to genuinely enjoy the challenge. He has psyched himself so well, all the time, in his life, the way he goes about things, that it's not just having to summon it for a match. He completely believes in himself, is so stringent in his diet, is super wealthy, and the only thing he has to worry about is to keep breaking all the records. His concentration is phenomenal and he's worked hard on skills that he was born with. I can't think of any other player who has the conviction and confidence that he walks onto the court with.
